Tire Sizes

Time to put tires on my '03 1 ton single wheel. Looking to go to bigger tires just not sure what size I can go to before it would require a lift. So lets hear it what sizes are you guys running?

Thanks

315/70 17R (Hummer Tire) are what a lot of people are using, me included very soon. Also can go with 33x12.50 17R or 35x12.50 17R. All depending on the size rim u are going to use. Do a search and you'll find a lot of info there as well.

What kind of milage did you get out of your BFG's. I currenlty have 34.5k on mine and still should be able to get another 10-15k easily

Nachtigal, I've been following the tire threads for a few months. Some people's truck rub a bit at full turn and some not. Personally I"m going to wait until I get I put on a >good< suspension lift. Search on death wobble and you'll see why.

Not on my BFG's---steady as a rock at 90!!! Just have the put on by someone who uses the "road force balance"!! Very important!!!! I have had tires lose 3/4 of the wt because of this and now the shops that do not have this machine I will not even consider!!!!!

BTW most of the Discount Tire Stores have this but NTB does not.

No rubbing on 33's until I put my mudflaps on. Now they only rub on a full turn.

Holy Freak, You guys must have stock in the tire industry. I tow heavy, drive hard, and never turn down an opportunity to red light it. I got over 100k km (62k miles) on the stock good years with 70 highway 20 city and 10 up to the axles in mud. I have cooper discovery m/s on now and as usual the coopers are awesome. Stick to ice like glue even without the studs, plow through snow and mud and are highway quiet. I have 32k km (20k miles). Must be the cool temps in this near polar region. Cooper ST's and for full bore offroad STT are the longest lasting tires I've had. ks

I have the BFG 315s on stock alloy rims. I have the 2" front leveling spacers. I have absolutely no rubbing issues under any conditions. I dont think mine would rub with out the leveling kit. I would recommend a full lift kit and not spacers. I will install full lift as soon as someone sends me a new credit card.

I have 16000 miles on the 315s and see very little wear. I expect to get 55k-60k out of them at least.

I have 22800 on the bfg 315's and they are all the way down to the wear indicators. These tires IMO are ok on the street, they have terrible offroad wet weather traction, and compared to the procomp all terrains (wear/traction) they suck! I'll buy procomps for longivity or mud tires if needed from now on.

Twist on this question now. I have been looking around at tires and have been told if I am going to haul a gooseneck I need to stick with an E load rating. Unfortunately the BFG's are a D. I am having a tough time finding an E tire in a size larger than the factory 265/70/17. Thoughts anyone?
