tire size for 6 inch lift and 20" rims

I have an 04 4x4 crew cab shortbed. When I bought it there was already a 6 inch lift with 20" wheels and 37 x 13.5 toyo tires installed. The tires are now about worn out and I priced some new ones and about fainted.

I am putting quite a few miles on and hate to be dropping 2k on tires every year.

In all honesty the truck looks sharp as is but it is a work truck, and I am getting older now and do not so much care for looks and big tires as much as being pracital.

I doubt I can put a stock size on there without looking completely dumb but maybe there is some comprise of a size that would be a lot cheaper to buy and still look halfway decent with the lift?

A friend of mine has a 6 inch on his 04 dodge and it looks great with 37's, but I know that they are expensive. Personally anything smaller than 35's might look a little weird with a 6 inch lift. I have 35's with a 2.5 lift and I think it looks perfect. I also have 20 inch wheels and I think that is a big part of why the tires are so much more money. I paid right around 300 a piece for my hankook's and so far they are perfect with 10k on them.

If your thinking about getting rid of the 37's, you might want to think about getting rid of the 20's too. I personally think 20's too much rim for a 35 (JMO). Go with a 17" rim if your going 35's. Compare the price between 35/20 and 35/17 big diff too. I'm sure there's someone out there willing to swap you their 17's for your 20's.
I'm looking to go back to 17's here soon... Walker Evans makes a SWEET wheel...

either go with 35s on the 20s , or search Craigslist for a set of factory wheels (maybe even a set of H2 take offs with tires already on them), and get 35s for those...both would look fine with a 6in. lift.

Id for sure go with a 17 or even a 18" wheel with 35's. I think that setup looks good. I dont know if you have fender flares or not but with those they would help close the gap between the fender and the tire.

I have a 6" lift with 35" on 20's and IMO it's a bit much rim for the tire. I only got them because they were a smoking deal used. I think 35's on 18" with 6" lift is perfect and I though that looked the best. I also had 37" on 17 with my 6" lift and though it was to much rubber, but still looked pretty good.

rickson tires

I have been looking into RICKSON TIRES. They are from Maryland, and from what i have read they are worth the $$$$ They build their own rims and their tires are incredibly strong and last longer than what is currently available. I have looked at so many brands and with my business i require an e rated tire at least. But after looking into this company , they offer a 16 ply g and h rated tire, matched with a 19.5 inch rim. This improves driving stability greatly. Especially with top heavy loads. This will cost me $4000k as i am from bc Canada, but all of you from the states will save more $$. And if i am correct they can probably be re-tredded, but i will be looking into that one.
