Do a search on the thread entitled the "yellow snake followed me to work today"

Aw, forget it, I will do it, the thread was hilarious and actually had some good tips.

Here it is, enjoy!

Chris
the words 'haven't seen a WINTER here in years' sounds like music to my ears. WINTER is no fun and snow justs feels like WINTER flipping me off!

A rule of thumb I use when plugging in.

One hour for every 10 degrees below freezing.

So, how many degrees does the heater warm the block?
Is there a certain "time limit" or is longer the better?

First ? It depends on your ambient temps.... at 60 below not a whole heck of a lot.

Second ? depending on the block temp as I said in previous post 1 hour for every 10 degrees below +32F

So we`re only gettin into the 30`s at night, but I figure that since I have the heater, I might as well use it to help warm the cab a little quicker in the morning. Today I added a boat charger inlet recepticle to the front valance just under the license plate bracket. I cut the zip tie from the core support. I then cut the block heater plug off an inch behind the plug. I cut a 1 7/8 inch hole in the middle of the valance under the License plate bracket. Then I slipped the cord through the hole in the valance, slid the rubber sealing cup over the cord, put the appropriate color coded wires in the recepticle, tighted the pinch lock screws, mounted the recpticle with the drain hole to the bottom and the rest is history. The kit I bought fom Marinco has everything needed except for the mounting screws. This makes for a real clean and inconspicuos install.

Tomorrow the extension cord will get a Big, Bright LED about 1 foot from the end so I don`t forget to unplug in the mornings.
