Are there different types of extended warranties?

I had to take my truck in again for the recirc door and an A/C charge. The A/C leaks somewhere as I have had to put a can of 134a in when I was in the middle of the desert 2 weeks ago. 5 days later the air was blowing warm again.

Anyway the rep told me neither is covered under my extended warranty and it would cost $315 to charge the A/C and put the recirc door in. He couldn't tell me what warranty I had either other than it was a good one. So Good it doesn't cover a known issue with the recirc door.

I'm heading down there and before I raise Cain I thought I'd ask. all the paperwork is in my glovebox at the dealer.

If you bought it at the dealer it is probably from Chrysler. You can sign up on the dodge web site and enter your vin and name and it will tell you not only which package you have but also what is covered. Go to the section "For Owners".

Thanks. seems it covers everything but the recirc and blend doors. go figure. $20 part and 1.7 hours of labor at $90 an hour is what they wanted. no thanks.

Maybe I'm a moron but after clicking on warranty on the page, it didn't give me the option to put my VIN # in. Where exactly do I go to get this info?

When I bought my new 2008, I had to deal with the finance manager. The dealer finance manager who provides the final numbers offered two different extended warranties for sale. I reviewed both of them with the finance manager for the dealer and picked the best one, but this was not through Chrysler Corp. In fact he did not even mention the extended warranty from Chrysler Corp or thier financing.
I believe the dealer can offer what every warranty and financing he wants. I do know they were extremely upset when I said I had my own financing already and did not require what the finance manager was providing. I almost walked out on the deal for the truck, but sales manager came through.
I think one of the reason I got such a good deal was the dealer was excepting to finance the truck and get a kick back from the loan company. Which they did not get.
