switching overhead trip computer

Has anyone removed the overhead comupter thingy from 1 truck and installed in another?
I have the top end one in my Laramie and want to switch it into my SLT. The slt has the one without the home tech buttons on for operating remote.

Well that experiment went awrye. The 03 sure didn't like the 06 overhead computer AT ALL! Headlights came on, gages went nuts and a flashing "no bus" came up on the dash.
Took that sucker right back out.

I didn't even think about it when you forst posted but the 06's went to Can-Bus that the 03's didn't have so it makes sense that it wouldn't work. Sorry about that!
