Supplemental Sirius Antenna ??

I fianlly installed my supplemental hood mounted Sirius Antenna for reception when I have the Lance Camper on. I am getting no reception through the new antenna. I am quite certain the factory connector in the passenger kick panel is not making a connection to the new antenna.

Do I have to trim the plastic of the factory connector in order to make a good connection to the new antennal?

Or is their a barrel connector available that will add a little length to the factory connection to make a good connection?

Other thoughts?

Thanks in advance...

I had to use a lot of pressure to get the Sirius connector pushed into the stock connector in the kick panel. But it does plug in and mine works good.

Thanks guys. I checked it again this morning. It was pushed together as tight as possible. I trimmed the plastic factory connector flush with the end of the actual coax inside. The factory connector is still perfectly usable just a litte shorter now. And the best part, I have reception.

My new antenna has a right angle connector on the end. Maybe that explains why I had to trim a little plastic.

My new antenna had the right angle connector also. Just had to push into that stock plastic connector real hard.

Glad you got it to work!
