Strange Sounding "Clunk"
my truck has recently adopted a new noise that is very annoying..when i slow down to make a right or left turn into a driveway/parking lot/ etc. and my truck goes over the transition..(the point where there is the most twist on the the truck)...there is a very distinctive "clunk"..
it sounds like it is coming from right behind the driver seat...somewhere on the driver side of the truck...
anyone have any idea what this could be???

Yep, traction bar nut sounds loose, just happened to me, tighten up all the nuts and bolts. Mine only made the noise on a right turn. Gone now. I think the level kits have something to do w/ this?

My standard anwer to "pops" is check the control arms, especially where they mount to the frame.
In this case, I'd check the cab mounts, particularly if you have step/nerf bars that mount to those points.

It is not the track bar...I have heard the noise...it comes from the back of the truck. I am wondering if it is exhaust related, spare tire related, or body/bed to frame connection related...

I'll throw this one out too. I have been hearing the same thing when making a hard right into the parking lot at work. It almost sounded like it could be in the cab. I checked the fold-flat floor and that elastic band had not been reconnected on the driver side. I connected it and, frankly, haven't noticed the clunk since. Could be coincidence or maybe that was it. Time will tell. Sure worth checking.

Wow! This is timely. I was just going to post about the same thing. Clunk from behind the driver's seat. Only happens at one particular intersection on my way home from work. Left turn and there is a slight incline. Only happens when I hit it going over 20mph.
Scared the pants off of me the first time it happend.
I do have Nerf Bars, and I was leaning towards blaming them. Guess I'll crawl under it this weekend and give the bolts a turn or two.
Thanks!
