stock rims (with new pics)

Ok so i got the 6 inch tuff country installed 2 days ago, and they guy called me and told me that that eagle 195s 17x10 with 4.5bs did not clear the calipers ( i dont know why, but he showed me and sure enough they wouldnt go on) so i returned them and ordered the american racing victors...the teflon ones with the chrome lip but not the real dark almost black teflon, the lighter grey teflon, they are 17x8 with 4.5 bs. SO right now my setup is 6 inches of lift with bfg at kos 315/70/17 in the stock rims. 3 questions:
What size are the stock rims (the sport ones)?
How much more will the new wheels stick out than the stock ones?
Are these wheels too narrow? I dont really plan on going with a bigger tire, but i like a nice wide stance, with the tires sticking out maybe 2 inches past the stock fenders. Any help would be appreciated. I think the new wheels come in on wednesday

Check out my photo gallery. I've got 16x10 wheels on mine and they stick out almost 3" from the fender. A stock wheel is I think 7" wide. Don't quote me though. An 8" wheel will stick the tire out about 2". Give or take 1/2".

1. Stock rims are 17x8 with 6 inch backspace.
2. About 1.5 inches.
3. Technically yes but a lot of guys run the 315's on the stock rims.

You will want wider rims with those tires. They will bulge in the middle on those rims.

Are those the new "polished" wheels? If so, how much would you need to part with them? PM me.

hey buddy, i got superlifts 6 inch with MT classic II rims 17X9 and they just barley clear the caliper. I got 37X12.50 on them and don't rub. The wheels and tires probably stick out the most 3 inchs just a little more then the stock wheels. It really looks good from behind or in front of the truck....

8" rims are perfect for 315 tires.

Not according to BF Goodrich . Recomended rim for the 315/70R17D is 8.5 to 10.0 inches.

I don't think 5% difference will matter much. Wonder if the 8.5" reccomendation has any coincedence with a H2 wheel width...since this tire was developed for them?

The entire world has been running 12.5" wide tires for ever on 8" wide rims with nary a problem.

Sorry 8-9" is perfect. BFG generally calls for slightly wider wheels then other mfgs, but personally I have found 8" wheels to work well with 315s, 33x12.5s, 37x12.50s etc.... (in BFG, Pro Comp, Goodyear, Hankook etc).

You lose less beads, bend less rims, and generally seem to get pretty good wear even with heavy vehicles....

Had a customer in my store this week that purchased our first set of 33x12.50R17 Mastercraft Courser C/T's on an '03 RAM 3500 SRW. They looked great on the 17x8 OE alloys. I'd be willing to bet just about any aftermarket wheel will have the backspacing you're looking for in the "wide stance" department.
