ok now that I have your attention. Shane and Mark are bad influences!! LOL!! Not really, They are both great guys and got me off my butt to do some free stuff to my truck. I just got the bug to debadge my truck today and stopped by a bodyshop that my shooting instructor owns and he hooked me up with a stripper wheel. It is like a giant round eraser and does not burn the paint but gets all of the sticky tape off without creating a GIANT blister on your fingers. Here are some pics. I still have to get the basic glue off with some adhisive remover and polish her up but it turned out killer.
Very sweet looking truck!!! I debadged mine with the 3m wheel also, that thing is worth the price. I didn't have to do anything else, just used the 3m wheel and it took EVERYTHING off.

Mine just has the slight invisible glue film but it will come off very easy. My buddy told me that if I can't get the ghost removed from the badges to bring it over and he would sick one of his detailers on it. It does need a good polishin!! LOL!!

I am glad that I got that wheel. It only took about 20 minutes to get rid of the tape and about 10 minutes to pull the badges then took some solvent and got rid of all the glue that may have been remaining. Now I just have to wash and wax it.

Couple of great guys to get me motivated to do some EASY stuff to old black! Now thinking of the whistler intake. Might need Mark to PM me for some tips since my truck has the bodylift things are probably out of wack for the intake.

No, I started by just going by the bodyshop and asking one of the painters what kind of cool tools they use and Scott (1 of the painters) went out to the truck and ripped one off with his hands!! He then turned to me and said, "you were going to take them off weren't you?" LOL!! He gave me a body filler spreader and said that they use them all the time to remove them. It was like 80* today and with the truck being black they came off pretty easy with the spreader. I removed them in the parking lot of the bodyshop and while I was removing them, he tossed in the 3M eraser wheel and went home to get r dun. Then I was at a customers house doing a quote and he gave me some solvent to remove the remaining glue left behind. It was a very productive day!

Everytime I log on, it seems like those 2 guys are doing something different to their trucks. Like keeping up with the jones's!! LOL!! Glad I am mechanically inclined so I can do most of it myself and have good buddies around here to lend a hand. I love this site.

, but it was worth it, they look so much cleaner debadged. lookin good!
