srt hood fitment issues, Help

I went ahead and put on the Srt hood, came across some fitment issues. the hood is off of an 05 or 06. It fits ok at the base of the winshield but as it gets closer to the grill it increases in gap height. i checked closely and it seems that the plastic in the front of the engine and the battery cable that comes across the top of the radiator are keeping it from coming down any further. The hood is in full closed position in the pictures. Any ideas? Do i need to re route the cable and remove the cable and hose holder there above the radiator. Any body else have this problem?

you should have rubber bumpers that screw up or down to set the fit height, they are bout 3/4 inch black plastic wex lookin things, screw up or down by hand...........

Is it possible that it is adjusted too deep at the base of the windshield? If you up adjust it slightly it might be enough to lower the front.

Well, there's really not a way to adjust it from the rear because it just has the mounting bolts.

i tried that but it doesnt line up the front of the grill with the light housing gasket and leaves a small gap. i checked on my brothers stock and it touches the gasket pretty tight. is there a chance maybe that its bent out in the center and it need more of an arch. the grille on the outside edges is lower than the corners of the hood and right in the center it sticks up above the hood about 1/16" of an inch is there a way i can try and shape the front to arch a little more?

If you push down on the front of the hood will it move down? Or is it solid?

It IS adjustable via the mounting bolts.

Is it clearing the fan shroud? If so try removing the battery cable you are talking about and see if it goes any lower but it should clear. Did you get the hood painted off the truck? Let me know how you fixed it as I also have an SRT-10 hood in the garage waiting to be painted and installed.

The hood sits on the shroud with minor rubbing. I took my truck and the hood to Davis Auto Glass & body, they said that all they needed was the paint code off the truck door and the VIN# to mix the exact paint color, i didnt want to $$$ for the fender blending many others offered but wasnt neccessary. Got a small dent out and got it painted for $150.00. I did remove the cable and the three holding clips but had no effect. I took off the grille and shut the hood and looked underneath with a flash light and it was all good. the outcome was that it was warped upward on the front outer corners. I put a little 4x4 piece of wood block and set it right in the center, and we applied gentle pressure on the corners we did that several times and we managed to close the gap more than 1/2" and now the problem is solved.

the best thing to do is install it before you get it painted so your 100% on fitment.
