That's why you have insurance.

I know it is frustrating, but I would imagine you were in the wrong. Your county probably has a parking ban in place on the streets once accumulations exceed 2". Call them to make a claim on their insurance and I'll bet they hide behind the fact that you shouldn't have been parked on the street.

If it was a county vehicle there should have been a police report made before he left the scene.
I ised to work for the city and know they want a report for any damage to their vehicles no matter how minor the damage.

Yeah, if it was a Dodge the damage would've been minimal.

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune, but consider yourself "fortunate". My old Mercedes was recently rearended to the tune of $3000 while legally parked on the street. It happened in the middle of a perfectly clear day while I was at work, no snow anywhere. Accidents can happen, but this SOB left the scene! Of course the cops were useless. They were more annoyed at having to write a report than sympathetic. It is (was) a nice car, but given its age and value, I didn't have collision/comprehensive on it. Also, the same useless cops in this pinko town will be right there to tow your vehicle when the street is snow covered.

I was just in Burlington the other day dropping off some cars.....I have heard of a lot of damage done by plows lately here in Wi. Some lady had her mailbox knocked down by the plow 3 times in one week they admitted to doing it but when she asked to fix it they did but they then placed it on top of an 8ft snow bank!

Atleast he stopped and admitted fault so are they going to cover it?

At least it wasn't a rotary plow.

For your information. There was a police report made out and the county is covering all costs. The truck is being repaired as we speak. My concern is the paint finish years down the road. You know, clearcoat pealing, fading, blotdhing, less chip resistant. I have used this shop in the past and fit and finish is very good. It just wont be the same. Thinking maybe buying new again.

If you live in a No Fault insurance state like I do, you still get hit with the cost.
