Question Show me your topper....

I`m considering getting a topper for my truck , and was hoping to see what you guys have on your trucks.

I`m leaning towards one with no side windows ( I KNOW... I KNOW you can`t see with those , but they look good and seem a bit more secure?).

ARE does build a nice, high quality cap.

I had an ARE on my ole '01 2500 and loved it. I think I paid $1400 for it.....

I had a LEer on my old 2004 Dakota Quad Cab and could not get the rear window to seal, at all. I paid a whopping $1700 for this one!

I have a Swiss on my current truck. It does not have as nice of rear window/door as my Leer or ARE did, but it seals nicely and does the job. I paid a mere $500 for it......

Old pic (Recons):

Of course...no cheap c-clamps here........all 3/8" stainless steel mounting bolts and hardware:

Yes, the stainless steel Bully Clamps are great!

I don't have a picture, but I have a Leer 100XL on my truck. Not impressed with the quality. On my 98, I had a Century cap and was very happy with it.

How do you plan on putting a topper on a long bed with stacks?

Here is my 06 with a Unicover topper. I had a fiberglass Unicover with the same setup on my 01 and loved it, but it was way to heavy to take on and off when I wanted to. Plus this was half the cost. Both side windows open and a vent on each side which the dog loves. Its easy as heck to take off too.

If you live in an area that gets alot of rain,LEERS leak alot, for what you pay ,they are not worth it,do a search on this forum. My 100Xl leaks on both side sliders and the front slider and water also comes in at the bottom corners of the rear window.I live in Canada just above Wash. state. We get lots of rain. When you try to contact Leer ,you are told to call your local dealer.I did. They removed one of my side slider windows and replaced the foam tape that seals the window and then stripped all the screws when they put the window back in,it still leaked ,then I made them replace the window and it still leaks, they all @#$%ing leak, for $3000 Canadian. That is a joke,if windows dont leak on trucks and recreational trailers ,why should they leak on canopies??? poor design..Do some research first.

My ARE cap leaked at multiple places through each side windoor. However, ARE's customer service was unbelievable... they sent me to a different dealer/installer to have it fixed, and told me if it leaked again, they would completely replace the windoors with a newer style. Since then, it hasn't leaked one single drop, and I can't see a smug or smear of any kind of sealing compound.

That's how my last LEER cap was. Leaked everywhere! I even took it back and they replaced the side windows and it STILL leaked My old Dodge had a LEER that was awesome. Never had a problem at all. I don't know what happened but I wouldn't buy another LEER if it was for $1. Junk!!
