Seat foam is SHOT. I can feel the metal, foam is split.
When I first got my '07,I purchased seat covers from Marathon Seat Covers. They fit like a gove and should at least protect the fabric. I choked though and didn't order the optional padding. I love this company. Excellent product from a family owned company in Montana. Great customer service. Front and rear pockets can be ordered also which carry all kinds of stuff. www.marathonseatcovers.com.
I took mine and had the foam fixed and had the guy wrap the bars and springs with leather to keep them from cutting into the new foam. It only cost me 50 bucks. I was able to get it done before I ripped my seat cover, but you can see where I used to slide in and out. Now I had NFab steps so I try to make sure I use them rather than sliding on the seat.
Received the foam today and installed it. It is nice to sit level again.
Removed the seat covers while I was at it, they were getting ratty. I forgot how funky the stock clothe seats were.
Have any of you-all repaired your lumbar adjustment device. Mine is broken like several others I have read about. The cheap little plastic threaded eye bolt part broke.

I just drove a 3200 mile round trip and haven't fixed the seat foam yet...I'm hating this seat! I need to get it fixed ASAP.
I'm annoyed that they allow something such low quality to pass in such an expensive truck.

I performed the seat foam repair on Saturday as described by randyb. I opted to use a 2" memory foam matress topper and made a few additional modifications / improvements. Given the size of the topper, I had enough material to modify the front and rear seats. I cannot explain how comfortable the seat is and look forward to my next camping trip.
I'm 6'5" and 330#. I have a bad habit of sliding out of the seat. When I am parked in a tight space and can't open the door all the way it's difficult to use the side steps. With 40K on the truck I haven't noticed any failure of the foam yet, but I can feel the metal sides. The fabric is showing lots of wear. I've been meaning to do the carpet/foam upgrade since I got the truck 2 years ago.
My long term plan is to either upgrade to the Katskinz covers and add some memory foam, or swap some better seats in. I've got Beard seats in the Bronco and they are great. I don't want as much side bolster as the race seats in the Bronco, they are a hassle for daily driving. I've read that the seats from the new trucks are more comfortable, I'm curious if they might bolt in.

Ive had my seat out just the other day to add some foam and I will be taking it out again since I still need a bit more. Its easy to do but it makes me hate Dodge every time I do it.I just like to remember I bought a CUMMINS and not a Dodge and after a couple of beers I am no longer so PO about my Dodge and it shameful seats!
I got the stock replacement foam piece from moparpartsamerica.com for $89 including tax and shipping. The old one was split completely beyond repair after 55K miles. The thing I noticed in mine was the way the seat frame was welded together (terribly designed): There was a sharp metal edge that ran the length of the seat, causing it to wear everytime the driver gets in/out. I wrapped this area of the sharp metal to hopefully keep the new cushion from splitting again.
Seriously Dodge, ***?

I am at the breaking point with mine now. Absolutely can't stand it anymore.
Oh, anybody have ideas on the V vs. M?
