Seat Cover Recommendations?

My new 2006 3500 has what I think Dodge calls the "slate" colored interior. It's AWFUL. It shows every speck of dirt, and the slightest moisture darkens the fabric it so it looks stained. Raindrops look like someone spilled coffee everywhere.

On a recent rainy morning I found that the rear window leaked (apparently a common problem at the moment). The local dealer completely removed the rear window and reinstalled it, curing the problem, but the leak stained the rear seat so badly (from RAINWATER, supposed to be relatively clean, right?) their detail guys could not clean it. Hence DC is buying me complete new rear seat upholstery. It will be here in a week.

My dog is going crazy because she can't just leap in and out of this vehicle like she's used to. I have to be ultra-careful how clean her paws are because otherwise it's an hour-long job to clean the fabric.

Bottom line: If I want anything close to a normal life with this truck, I've got to get some decent seat covers.

I'm wondering what everyone else has tried and liked or disliked. The last seat covers I purchased were for my wife's 2003 Grand Caravan. Those were custom-made neoprene covers and they're really nice - they look like factory equipment and handle moisture (read: a wet dog) really well. But they cost nearly $1000 so I'm wondering if there's a better/cheaper choice for the truck.

I'm willing to spend what it takes to do it right, just looking for options and opinions before I commit the cash. Thanks!

I am very impressed with the OEM seat covers. Bought some just for hunting season, and now probably won't ever take them off except to throw them in the washer!

Hello
I went with these:
http://www.wetokole.com/
They are neoprene as well, they look great (most people think it is factory fabric) and have held up very well so far (two years). While they are not cheap, they didn't cost me anywhere near $1000 for both front and rear.
Good luck with your quest.

Wet Okole is who supplied the neoprene seat covers for my wife's minivan. Great covers, just as you say. They were nearly $1000, but remember that a minivan has three rows of seats so there's a lot more fabric and labor involved than for a truck, even a Quad Cab.

I'm pretty much convinced WO is going to get this business, too. Interestingly, they don't have a Dodge logo to put on the seats, so I'm going to call them and see if they can take user-supplied logos. If so, I'm going to use the Cummins "C" logo and put it on both front seats. I think that would dress it up a lot.

i agree with using the Ram covers, they are a one piece quick on and off with nice Ram sewn into the head rest.....I put them in all my trucks and they make some that will be a good match your your interior...if youre still woried about stains etc...make a trip to the hardware store and pick up a can of 3M SctotchGaurd and spray them down, I have spilled everything from coffee to milkskakes and with that combo not a stain to be seen..oh yeah, they make the covers for both front and back..price is reasonable and if you are buying from your regular dealer ask them for wholesale pricing, it makes a big difference

They're tough, and look good. I'd also recommend spraying them with scotchguard(by the sounds of your needs). They're a medium grey, witha rams head on the headrests. Tough cotton material.

check out the options at http://carcovers4less.com/seatcovers1.html -

i went with the semi-custom sure-fits in saddle blanket black, well-made, look very nice with the gray interior, almost a perfect fit, they just seem to have mis-placed one of the car-seat brackets for the rear seat - passenger side, outboard, if i recall correctly, perhaps a year to year design change...

i wasn't especially impressed with the vinyl cover for the center console, but didn't expect to be -

WET OKOLE without a doubt.

Had them on three of my trucks and are by far the best seat covers. I paid about $500 for front and back.

I agree Wet Okole makes great seat covers, but I have to say I'm less than impressed with their inflexibility at the moment. They have two styles, all solid color or with an insert color in the seat and back. I want a solid black seat (due to watersports) and the two-color back. They make both as standard products, but refuse to make mine with the seats one way and the backs the other. I even offered to pay an extra charge to get it the way I want it, and they literally told me (direct quote) "We'd rather lose the business."

Okaaaaaay, so they also will apply logos to the seatbacks. They use heat transfer graphics from Autographz, one of which is a nice Cummins logo. I'd like to use that, but they'll only put it on the front seats. No rear seat logos. How about if I pay an extra fee? "We'd rather lose the business."

Fine. How about applying the logo to the headrest covers instead? I'm worried about seatback logos looking good after a couple years of people's clothing rubbing against the seats. The headrests don't get near the friction, so the seat covers will look nicer and be a better advertisement for Wet Okole too. "We'd rather lose the business." Even for extra money? "We'd rather lose the business."

So I called Autographz to see if I could buy the logos myself and put them where I want them. VERY nice people, but the short answer is no... it requires a custom-made heating device. Closest authorized shop is across the state. So they called Wet Okole trying to convince them to do what the customer wants. I'll let you guess what Wet Okole's answer was. Autographz was amazed, incredulous, that Wet Okole would have such an attitude when all I wanted was a **standard graphic** on an already 100% **custom** seat cover.

Sadly, I'll probably go with Wet Okole anyway because their product really is the best choice for my application. I'm thinking I may order them with no logo, then ship the headrest covers to that Autographz dealer and have him put them where I want for a few extra bucks.

I've heard good things about the ones that Costco sells (or at least they used to), not sure what brand they are though

I had the Dodge OEM covers on my "99" and my "03" They were the only good covers out there for the "99"...seatbelt in the seat! The "03" set are great also with a good fit....Throw them in the washing machine and done! I might even get a set for my "06" Laramie...maybe!? I think they were around $225.00 for front and rear.
