Yes. Follow the instructions carefully. Do not turn the key off when you are done, just shut the motor off. It took me a while but I got it.

thats it, are you leaving the key in the "on" position when you shut the truck off, you are just shutting the engine off not the key entirely.

I have the middle belt buckled togather all the time, and it doesn't go off. Mind you I drive with a seat belt on all the time anyway!LOL!

option 1: dig round under the dash and pull the chime out....

option 2: pull the plug out of the bottom of the seatbelt reciver.... (should either be open circuit or closed circuit to make it think the belt is plugged in) something about making a wire jumper to go in the plug and close the circuit???

option 3: plug center seat belt in

option 4: wear seat belt

The instructions will work if followed exactly. Seems a lot of people, including me, had to try more than once or twice or three......

I can't remember the trick right now... but I do remember that when I got it to work it was by exactly following the instructions.

btw - I wear the belt all the time. The ONLY time I don't wear it is when hitching up, backing in, or driving in a campground - eg when I'm in/out of the truck a few times and always moving slowly.

The following steps must occur within the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON or START position. DC does not recommend deactivating the EWS (Belt Alert)

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and buckle the drivers belt.
2. Start the engine and wait for seat belt warning light to turn off.
3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle and the rebuckle the drivers seat belt at least 3 times within 10 sec., ending with the belt buckled.
4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify the sucessful completion.

Worked the first time I tried it for me. Now when Im driving around the farm, hookin up, etc I dont have an annoying ding to listen to.

look under your seat, if you see a connector, disconnect it...should be a two wire connector for the seatbelt, a larger one for power seats.

There have been, I think, 1 million threads on this subject. Do a search for "chime".

The last thread that covered this topic centered on the fact that the seat belt has to be buckled/unbuckled EXACTLY 3 times (not "at least" like the instructions say).

The wires under the seat that go to the chime create a closed circuit when the seat belt is buckled. Simply unplugging the connector under the seat won't work. If you have trouble with the owner's manual method of disabling the chime then you can insert a jumper wire between the two wires for the seat belt chime. I took a 2" piece of 14-gauge solid-core copper wire, bent it into a "U", stripped about 3/8" of the insulation off, and then beat the ends flat.
