Thumbs up sales woman assures no body mods to 05

She doesn't seem that bright but she sounds nice on the phone so I'm inclined to believe her. She didn't know first off but she hollared out and someone replied, "No changes." I guess I'll jump in and buy this weekend. Big Memorial day sale and all. Plus 2500$ cach back n 04's.

Well I heard runors of a longer cab but I'd figure we'd have seen it by now if it goes on sale next month or so. I can wait till then but I can'wait till next year end as my current truck won't hold up for family vacations.
Thanks for making me think though.

Make her do some research just ask if they do come out with a true crew cab next year you will give me full trade-in value on my truck right, because there have been lots of rumors to that effect. Just laugh as she squirms around trying to think of a proper response. If they say yes get it in writing.

I gotta think if Dodge was going to do a full size crew cab, there is NO WAY they could keep it under wraps with it being so close to the 05's shiping......

In this day and age with the internet and digital cameras, it is almost impossible for companies to keep stuff like that secret.

I agree, maybe we wouldn't hear anything from the Mexican plant but folks in thge Southern states like to talk and if Joe Bob was working all day on a new larger Ram I'm pretty sure he'd tell his neighbor who was about to buy one and it would start from there.

I think there will be very few changes for the '05 version. They may be cosmetic changes on the inside, but I don't believe there will be any changes on the outside. DC extended the ordering period another week, and if they need time for tooling, there wouldn't be much time between production runs to change over.

I do believe there will be a price increase because the prices of everything is starting to ascend. Everyone wants to jump on the price increases to compensate for increases in costs.

I agree probably no changes are in store for the '05s but you can't be 100% sure until they release a picture.

You could make the argument that because they haven't released a picture of the 2005, they may be hiding something.

If there are no changes they'd be better off releasing a picture of the 2005 early because people waiting to buy a 2005 would then see there's no difference and start buying up all the lower priced 2004 leftovers.

That would clear the deck for DC to start shipping 2005s.

Just a thought.

Good argument. There may be either minor cosmetic changes or major body changes and they are paranoid it will lower selling price of remaining 04's. I personally will kick myself if I wait for nothing and not only loose the $2500 rebate but perhaps get hit with an escalated price for the 05's. Perhaps we haven't seen the 05's bacause DC feels there is nothing worth fussing over. I'm about to email DC and say I'm buying a Ford unless I hear or see something.

Michael F. Donoughe is appointed Vice President - Body-on-Frame Product Team and Core Team Leader. Donoughe was formerly Vice President - Family Vehicle Product Team and Family Vehicle Core Team Leader.

Since this fella was pulled off the "family vehicle" team and placed on "body and frame" formerly "truck"team it sure seems to ring true DC is trying to "family up" their trucks.

I agree one thing's for sure:

If they've made worthwhile changes to the '05s, as soon as they let that information out the 2004 sales will nosedive.

Then you'd get a great deal on a leftover 2004!

They hung with the old body style for about ten years, I doubt they will change this one in two.

I'm in the same boat here. I'm finally in a position to buy a new truck and it came down to getting the '04 based on the fact I don't think I'd get such a good deal on a '05 with it's price mark-up and lack of rebates . I had been on the fence as to waiting and ordering the '05. I'll be happy knowing the money I saved getting my '04 I can put towards goodies for my truck.. I can't wait for the '05's to come out though.
