there are 2 values for vehicles.. the blue book and also a salvage value.. when they total a truck is is the Book value - the salvage value..

So if your truck is worth 25K and the salvage value is 10K then if the damages are over 15K they will total the truck..

Thats not even half the value of the truck? It may also depend on your insurance company.

I agree with TIMMER. Don't look that bad.

I had a friend that ran into a palm tree, those don't move. He bend his frame,
and did a bunch of damage to the front. He gave up 750 dollars in the insurance payoff to keep his truck so he could reuse the cummins and other parts.

It was a 96 12V. It could not be tittled anymore so he said.

I think it will be a T/L.

Almost every peice of metal is damaged.

Bumpers and windshield would be $2K alone.

I would say thats ta ta ta ta totalled! I had less damage on my old toyota 4x4 and it was a t/l. Sentimental or not....you dont want it back. Get you a new one...if they pay 25k, you can be driving an 06-07 for around 4k more.

Good Luck.

Thats a total loss, don,t even mess with it,there are so many things you can't see that are damaged. And I've fixed a few like it,and its very hard to get it perfect. But thats just my opinion. Good luck and don't let sentimental value stand in the way of you making a smart decision.

Havn't heard anything from the insurance co. yet, but im sure it will be a total loss. Pretty much all the sheetmetal is thrashed. Ive never been in an accident before, so it has me wondering: will they total the vehicle based on sheetmetal? I took all my goodies off already just in case. I really hope they dont, the truck is very sentimental to me. What do you all think?
normally they total out vehicles that have rolled all the way over because it twists frames and screws up all kinds of components

not to mention the entire cab is not really repairable and will need completey replaced. There is also probably a few grand in damages under the hood. Even if they did repair those doors and the door jams it would still probably not fit the way it used to

Good to hear your OK. I had the same situation in November with my '02 - went over sideways 1-1/2 times. Only salvagable panel was the tailgate and front and back bumpers. Without allowing for frame, engine, or trans. damage it added up to over 30k canadian $. My guess is yours will be written off.
