???"s on ordering 2008

I am considering ordering a new 2008. I have a few questions...
1. Can I get a 3500 Quad cab with single rear wheels and a long bed?
2. Is the only difference between a 2500 and 3500 a set of overload springs?
3. I tow a 28ft Travel trailer occasionally (approx. 9000lbs), do I want the 3.42, 3.73, or the 4.10's in the rear?

Any changes between the 2007 and the 2008? (Lots of good prices on the 2007's)?

Thanks for you help...

I just ordered a 07 3500 SRW in June...so I'll try to help.

1. You should be able to...I ordered a SB because all the SRWs on the lot were LB.

2. the only diff is the overload springs and perches on the frame...and the ~$400 invoice increase from 2500 to 3500 for the springs.

3. I don't really know on this one...but I'd think the 3.73s would be fine...9k isn't that high for this truck...and since you only tow occaisionally you'll want to keep your fuel economy. The 3.42 wasn't an option for me. What speeds do you normally drive at? The 6th gear in the 68RFE is like 0.63 I think. Any tire or wheel mods planned?

the only changes I know of are the package badging...new badges for Big Horn, Thunder Road, etc, and late 07's and 08s get the electronic transfer case control...so if that's important to you (if you want a manual stick for the transfer case) look for an 07.5 that was built between Jan and early June.

I tow a 30' TT (about 8500 lbs). My truck has the 3.73 rear end and tows it without a problem. Right now I am getting a little better than 19 mpg on my empty commute which is a combination of freeway and surface streets.
