Running light replacement

Here's a great big Howdy Ya'll from Texas!!! Loving my 2003 DRW more everyday-still a baby at 3800 miles. Perhaps I'm asking far too early, but how does one change the roof running lights without crushing the roof? Also, the front end seems "mushier" than my 1991 Dodge D250; are any of you detecting this as well? Thanks to one and all for any replys to the above inquiries!!! Gig "em Aggies!!! Beefmaster-The Cattlemans Choice!!!

Re:Running light replacement

I guess that all depends on how much you weigh. When I got my truck it had the dreaded moisture in two of the cab marker lights. The first time to remove and dry them out I spread a blanket over the roof and carefully slid across the roof from the rear. When I replaced the lights with the new ones I just stood on the floor with the door open and was able to reach them. I had to replace the center one and the next one towards the passenger side. I weigh 220 and didn't cave the roof in. Just be careful if you use the climb on roof method, especially if you weigh more than I do.

Thanks for the reply Jonesey!! I weigh 148 lbs., so it appears the roof shall remain un-scathed when that time arrives. Until later Amigo!!!

Your 91 rode like my 90 and 92 did...ROUGH compared to these. The 2nd gen was in between the 1st and 3rd generation Rams for ride but after driving an 03' I like it better on some of the roads UP HERE ;D

Howdy Scotty!!! Thanks for your input on the "soft" ride of my '03 DRW as compared to my '91 D250--just seems so mushy. Eventually, I'll put some Ranchos 9000's (esp. the front end) on the beast. Best of succes and health to you!!!
