Re:RUNNING BOARDS OR NURF BARS

i am getting something in between both.i need something to help with the rock chips and such under there.these are made by MID AMERICA AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS.they are called <br>CHALLENGER TUBE STEPS.made from 6063t6 aluminum or polished stainless,or black.6&quot; outside to outside flat step.50% more step than regular tubes, full length oe style pad on top, black extruded end caps.i saw these in a dodge customizer catalog.most 4 wheel shops can get them.dont know about web site, maybe by the manufacturer.if you dont want a tube,or a board, this is nice and in the middle.

That's what I wanted too, pappygtb. These Mopar steps did the job although they do not run wheel well to wheel well. See pic.

Re:RUNNING BOARDS OR NURF BARS

I bought the ICI stainless steps and I really like them but my dad is in a wheelchair and I think his foot may slip through them, so I just ordered the running boards from Mopar. If anyone is interested I will sell the ICI for 250.00 plus shiping. They are only two weeks old and look like new.

TDC, get a letter from your dad's doctor stating his disability and take it to your dealer. The D-C AutoAbilities program will reimburse you up to $750; that's the amount in Canada anyway. Maybe you already knew this or have used it for another modification.

Re:RUNNING BOARDS OR NURF BARS

I got the best of both worlds...looks like wheel to wheel nurf bars only they have tread plate welded to the top...real sweet but heavy. Kinda like bumper car bumpers for the truck. Also keeps the mud down and the wife happy. They are made by Browns welding and manufacturing. About $400.00 plus intstalation. Mine are welded to the frame...they ain't going anywhere.

Re:RUNNING BOARDS OR NURF BARS

Well if you don't weld them on...they have to drill and bolt them on...and because it a hollow frame...its almost impossible to do. They did one and it started collapsing the frame...and I did not think that was too good of an idea. Also if they don’t weld too much it wont affect the strength. They do it on semi trucks (very carefully) but it works. This is both a nurf bar and running board all in one.

Re:RUNNING BOARDS OR NURF BARS

I went to Browns Welding and looked at theirs. They are about the same as the Lonestar Running Boards I have. But since they are welding to the frame I did not get them. The ones I have now are mounted to the bottome of the cab mounts, very simple to put on and no welding.
