Removing the transmission gear shift lever extension
Removing the transmission gear shift lever extension
So, it's time to replace all my HVAC doors and I'm stuck trying to remove the transmission gear shift lever extension.
How much torque is on this nut??? Are the threads backwards? I can't get this thing off.
Any hints?

Been fighting with it for a while and I'm not a small person.
I'm afraid I'll break a shift fork or something if I use a cheater bar on the wrench.
What am I doing wrong? Is there I place I can put another wrench to offset the torque?

You'd be way ahead of the ballgame to just remove the 4 bolts holding the assembly in place. Then, just stuff a rag in the top end to keep foreign materials out.
