You may need to shim the mounting screws to allow more pushing against the pin side. I had to do that with mine also.

I had to adjust mine way out also.

The cab lights I had to modify, rewire, and seal to get the to work and seal correclty.

The taillights also required alot of work.

The Line of Fire installed great.

I am convinced Recon makes junk and I will never buy their products again.

thats why i just went with ebay stuff, much cheaper and literally identical to Recons money takers. Every recon product i have I've had to modify more than the ebay stuff.

I just put Recons all the way around my truck (tail lights, 3rd brake, tailgate light bar and clearance lamps). I didn't have a lick of trouble installing any of them. The tail lights and 3rd brake lights were particularly easy, just pop out two screws each and stick the lights in. I did have to use the screws they provided instead of the factory screws since the factory screws weren't near long enough. I had a question for Recon and sent them an e-mail. They e-mailed me back within an hour (on a Saturday). I hate to hear about all the bad luck with Recon stuff, but I've got nothing but good stuff to say about the products and service at this point.

Yeah, either way will work as long as you don't hit anything putting the tailgate up. I put washers on the inside between the metal on the truck and the light and then tightened them down snug. No prblems so far, never had to take them back out.
