Thumbs down Rb1 is busted

WHat a bummer. 36363 miles and rb1 is dead . Dealer says no waranty cause Im over the mileage. I guess that will teach my to buy from dc. I called some where to repair it and the estimate was 475. Sorry but this is kind of just a rant. ANy suggestions would be great but I have no expectations. Thanks. heres to you DC

Which part of the radio doesn't work? How did they quote on it without seeing it? If it's the gps, is it possible to try somebody else's dvd? Lot's of questions.

well the screen only works intermittedly(SP). If the screen doesnt work than none of the functions can be accessed, like cd or other radio stations. . I unhooked it and plugged it back in. and it worked but died again. I called a radio repair place that focuses on dodge radios and he sent me to the manufacturer and I guess they only refurbish them for a flat rate??? SO I dont know any other options

Any chance of talking to another dealer? Since you are so close on warranty (assuming it is 36K miles), I would think someone, somewhere might be more reasonable. What about contacting a Star Rep?

I would call DC consumer affairs and start a file to document the actual mileage when you reported the problem. Put the ball in there hands also if you have done any service at the dealer let them know.

Radio Replacement

Let me know if you need to replace your radio. I may be able to come up with one for you at a reasonable price. I have gotten factory radios for other makes and models much less than I have found in other places.

Tell them that its been an intermittent problem that finally died, so it actually broke before the 36K mile mark.

Also being less than 400 miles over, and no consideration??? I wouldn't give them the business, warranty or not.

Hopefully they will do the smart thing. An appreciative lifelong customer is worth much more than a radio. Good luck, and please keep us posted.
