Random window opening

Have a new, strange problem with my truck. Recently the RH rear window will randomly open itself. So far have not detected any pattern for when it does this. Once it is open I can close if from the driver controls with no problem. Perhaps there is a ghost no residing in the back seat?
I can understand windows not working for sundry reasons, but not sure where to start digging for a window that activates itself? A bad connection or broken wire will normally result in a window not working, but to work too well???? The only thing that I can think of at this stage is something loose inside either the rear door switch or the switch in the drivers side.

Anybody have any ideas?

Brings me memories of my '01 Jag S-Type and the ghost that appeared with it. I don't think you need to read that long thread as I don't think the RAMs have that type of issue with battery voltages (Jags are VERY sensitive to voltage issues).

I'm suspecting this only occurs when you are in the truck, ignition on, as that is the only time there is voltage to the window switches. I would suspect either the passenger door switch or the driver's master switch. You could pull, inspect, replace as needed, or use the passenger lock-out button on the driver's panel. Once you lock out passenger control, there is no voltage going to the passenger door's window switches. If the ghost issues continues, it is in the Master switch. If the ghost goes away, the issue is probably found in the door switch.

I'll send you a PM.

Thanks for the response. Your thinking is along the same lines as mine. I have the complete Dodge wiring diagrams and mine looks like what you posted. Going to leave it for now and see if the problem gets worse and if it does, then it will be much easier to track down. Have not used the window lock yet as I want to see what is happening. Yes, this does only happen with the ignition switch on and while driving.

A few decades (lifetimes) ago I used to own a Jag Mark 8 and it had the Prince of Darkness electrical system. This was probably the worst car I ever owned. The brakes especially were a nightmare. This car also had two fuel tanks, one each side, and it needed them due it gulping large amounts of fuel. Could never keep front shocks in this horrible car either.

Today while driving the rear window suddenly opened. Could not close it from the drivers switch and had to park and walk around to the rear door and close the window from the RH door switch. This makes me suspect the drivers side switch. Have had trouble with this in the past and needed to change it. This was done when the truck was still under warranty. Others here on DTR have also had problems with this switch. While I hate to just throw parts at the truck in hopes that something works, this switch assembly is not that expensive, so am thinking about just installing a new drivers side switch assembly. In the meantime have locked out all the windows.

I think you are on the right track, but if you used the lock-out switch for the windows, it only locks out the 3 windows, not the driver's. (drat, you probably already knew that)
Waiting for morning for my brew . . .

Update.
Once I locked out the windows the troublesome window stopped randomly opening. Have now installed a new switch assembly in the drivers door and so far the random window opening has not happened again.

I would think by using the lockout switch, which gives power to the individual non-driver’s door switches, and having no ghost issues any more, you would change out the passenger door window switch. Another ‘test’ I thought of would be to swap switches between the rear doors and see if the problem followed.
BUT, if that worked, great. Congrats and I’ll drink a toast to you in the morning. (Morning brew, of course )

Off to the shooting range in the morning.

Yes, could have done what you are saying, but went this route and bit the bullet and took a bit of a chance on installing a new drivers side switch due to having problems with that switch once before, plus there being past threads here with others having problems with that switch.
