Rancho 9000s
Rancho 9000s
Is anybody running these shocks? How do you like them so far? I just bought a set of 4 and hope to get them on real soon. My stocker shocks looked pretty lame when I had them off to install the HBS Leveling Kit. Thought it was time for an upgrade. Truck has 36,000 miles.
These are adjustable with 9 settings from soft to very firm. What settings are you running empty? front? Rear?

I'm running them on my 2000, and love them. I have about 40K on them are they are still good as new. Going from stock to the Ranchos and a rs5000 steering stabilizer made the truck feel like a sports car compared to before!!! I have mine set on 5 in the front and 4 in the rear (I drive a truck because I like a firm ride). If I am towing or hauling anything very heavy I crank up the rears it is a very nice feature.

I have Rancho 9000Xs with my 315s. They have been on for 41,000 miles. They seem to do the job just fine, I have no complaints. I put them on when i did the leveling kit and tires with less than a 1000 miles on the truck. So I really don't know how much better they are than stock. I like a truck to ride like a truck, I have front on 7 and rear on 4.
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

I was one of the first to install the 9000's on a third gen. Rancho had to do some research to even come up with part numbers for the local dealer. Had them on for about 44,000 miles so far with no problems. Empty, have them set to 3 for the rear and 5 for the front.
Thanks for the replies, guys. Me and some friends from the N. Texas DTR Chapter installed mine yesterday evening.
Initial impression is that they improved my side to side handling a little. Right after installing, I took a road test trip and did some pretty fast speeds (70-80mph) on a country curvy road. It felt like an 8000lb sports car. I really can't tell a marked improvement yet on handling bumps, rough roads etc. I think my stockers were probably still good for another 30,000 miles or so. But I don't really regret the upgrade.
After driving them some more, I may begin to notice bigger improvement differences. I am starting out with the settings on 7 for the front and 3 on the rear. I haven't weighed lately, but my front end has to weigh clost to 5000lbs with the RH and MM winch. It was 4560lbs a few months ago before those additions and 3200 on the rear for a total of 7760.
