Radio goes off after 1-10 minutes

I got an interesting issue. My radio will die after a short while, usually, won't go back on for 20-30 minutes, then shortly dies again. To me it seems something is warming up then going open circuit. I have replaced it with another factory unit which looks brand new and still the same issues. The reason I did not go aftermarket is because I like my steering wheel controls and with 20% hearing loss and 80% AM radio listener, I did not think the upgrade needed! P.S. when it goes out the display still reads the station and what ever their sending over the waves, like titles and such.

Is it an Infinity system? If so, it is amplified and it sounds like the amplifier is going bad. You might also check all of your speaker connections at the speakers. If one is touching metal somewhere that can send the amp into protection mode. You will still have display but no sound. My bet is on the speaker connection. Or if you have a blown speaker it can ground out the amplifier causing it to go into protection mode. Play the radio and put your ear to each speaker, if one is not playing or crackling/popping that is probably the problem. You can test it by disconnecting that speaker and see if the sound comes back on.

I checked all of the speakers and they all sound fine. Where is the amp on the infinity system?

Above the glovebox. Did you turn the volume up? Sometimes to get a speaker to pop it has to have some pretty good bass hits.

I had it up to about 25-27, the louder it is the quicker it goes out. Will any quality aftermarket amp work and be a little cheaper?

Aftermarket amps will not work in it's place. You would have to run an aftermarket deck and speakers to do that. I still think you should turn up the volume and unplug each speaker 1 at a time, of coarse plugging it back in afterwards until you find the one that lets the sound come back on. If the sound is not playing and you unplug the speaker that is bad the sound will come back on. If the amp is bad you might have to go with new speakers and the Cleansweep.

I used the fader to shut off each speaker, did not unplug however. This started right after I jump started truck. It had never done it before. Would crutchfields sell clean sweep? It looks interesting. I do not want to do away with my steering wheel controls!
