Question about ordered trucks

Ordered my truck last Sat. and what I received was a receipt for my $500 deposit and the sheet that desribes the truck and options that I ordered. (Thats the one with the MSRP, FWP and EP prices). Now on this sheet he wrote what my sale price was, along with the current rebates that I'll be getting.

Now, the question is, is there not a contract of any sort? Verbally he said that:

If the equipment list price goes up we are locked in at the ordered price

If the DC rebate goes up we could use the latest rebate if we chose to.

No need to fill out the credit info till the truck is here.

Is that the normal process??

Oh yeah, one more thing, he was not sure if we would be able to get the 0% 48month +$2000 if the truck was delivered after March 31st but thought with the $2500 rebate would. He is looking in to that.

Thanks
Dan

Boy, Dan, you just blew $500. Just kidding. I'm also interested too since I plan to order from the same person tomorrow.

Everything sounds on the up and up. I've ordered many trucks over the last 20 years, including the one I currently have on order. I do think it's a good idea to use a major credit card for the deposit. In case there is a problem somewhere along the way and you decide to opt out of the deal, you have recourse with the credit card company (i.e. contest the charge) as opposed to occasional problems I've heard in regard to getting a deposit made with cash or a check back from a dealer.

Everything sounds about right Dan. You also have the option of backing out, without losing your deposit,at any time up until you sign the purchase agreement.

P.S.( Don't be tryin to straightin them Marsh Creek corners with your new truck!)

Thanks, I guess I got a little antsy because I had not gotten a call back from the dealer yet about some questions. I did use a credit card and did get a VON # and oh yeah 2% under invoice. Waiting 8-12 weeks is going to be hard.

Yeah, actually we're out out of town on Morgan Territory Road. It's funny you should mention it, not to long ago on my way home I saw a white Ferd QC over the side. He had'nt rolled it, it spun around backwards and shot right between two gaurd rails They had a big semi-tow truck to pull him back up the hill. Our power outages here are mostly from people knocking power poles down.

So did you once live near here??

Whoaaa. That one hurts. I've been counting on the "sold order protection" discussed in another thread to preserve just that particular incentive option. Please keep us posted on this one.

Thanks,
Neil

Sold Order Protection applies. That salesman needs to get his facts straight.

What Wexman said is right-SOLD ORDER PROTECTION. You will get any program that was available at the time of order. Also if the rebate gets bigger before your truck arrives you will get that also. I ordered mine with just the $2500 rebate, now I can get the $2000 rebate and 0 per cent interest. Can't wait........

Right you are. Salesman called today and confirmed it was covered.
He also said they would not sell RickE (another forum member) a new truck for 2% under invoice like they had to me. The best they would do was invoice. That is not to bad a deal but Antioch Dodge told him they'd sell him one at ~2% under invoice as well. So he was headed there to buy one this evening. Hope it all worked out.

I ordered today from Bruce at Antioch Dodge for $650 under. That comes out to 1.8% under for my truck.

I'm not too happy with the dealer dawall ordered from. I called yesterday and they told me that I could get the same deal as dawall. I went out there today and he went from 2% under to flat invoice. He said I could get 1% with a "family and friends" number. He said Dan's was a mistake. I walked!

The wait begins. 4 hours down...

I just can't understand why a dealer would let a sale go for just a few hundred dollars. Well I guess it was $650. Anyway, it all worked out about the same for us in the end.

I just found out that my truck was being built today (D1 status) wooohooo

Well, I've got a couple more, antsy new owner waiting for his truck, questions.

For a California 3/4 ton truck what typically is the yearly weight fee?

If you have or get a shell or Bed cap do you not have to pay the weight fee?

In closing the sale are there any legitimate fees other than Tax, license,Documentaion and weight fees?

What typically has been delivery times to CA... my dealer said maybe 10 - 12 weeks?

Thanks
Dan

Teddroe....Not to make you feel worse but check out my signature, went from submitting order to dealer to scheduled ship date in 8 days. Frankly, a lot of what you are seeing here with quick scheduling has to do with dealer allocations. Dealers who move a lot of trucks, get larger allocations. Could also be that you ordered something on your truck which is on backorder. It's my understand that an order which is delayed from scheduling due to parts availability is only held in the system for 60 days, then it's kicked out or dropped.

I just called DC.

My truck went D1 on 2/4, and scheduled ship date is 2/18.

Very cool. My order was submitted on 1/19.

Tedroe - give your dealer a call.
