Purchasing a new dodge truck.

Ok, I'm in the market for a new truck and have been looking an test driving and talking price....BUT the best that I and do around here (Florida) is ~5K under MSRP (they say it is invoice) on what ever I look at. That is before any incentives.

I have seen on here people taking about $10-$13K off MSRP... Where can I find these deals? I would be willing to fly some where and drive it back for a deal like that.

Get a price quote from Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, Idaho. They are cheap and if I remember correctly, they'll fly you out there to pick it up. That's where I bought my truck. When I bought it in '03, I got it for $29K and change.

The best I've seen for an 07 5.9 is 10,500 off... I got 10,000 off.

I will be picking up a truck from Dave Smith's in 3 weeks. I currently live in Korea and am moving back to the US so I only went by Dave Smith's reputation for low cost and user friendly sales. For a 2007 5.9 2500 4x4 QC long bed big horn package with almost all options but sun roof, nav system, and leather I am paying 34,500 + TTL. This is counting all rebates. It is roughly 900.00 below invoice. If you call, ask for Justin, he has been working with me and has done a great job (no I don't work for them).

Go to Edmunds.com or Kelly Blue Book.com for invoice prices and take those into the dealership with you. Another tactic is to bypass all the salesmen and go directly to fleet sales (anyone can buy from them) and have them order you a truck. Most places charge invoice prices or a small amount over. Hope this helps.

Bought mine from Woodhouse Auto Family. I'm in CA and the dealer is in Blair Nebraska. I think they will certainly help you with the numbers you are interested in. No worries! Talk to Eric Wulf and tell him Ken from California told you to call since he got a great deal! I don't want to throw up numbers, but it is really worth a phone call!

Woodhouse 800-889-1893.

What was MSRP on it. That is almost the price I got mine for.

A couple of you have mentioned Dave Smith, is this a dealer? of a buying service? Only thing I found on the net looks like a service.

Dave Smith is a LARGE dealer...used to be the largest in the Pac NW, if not the country. Dishmann Dodge in Spokane is also well talked about. Adam there will make sure you get all the hook ups like the Farm Bureau $500 discount, etc. Personally I bought mine from Integrity Dodge in Vegas...got it for $1000 under invoice. Scott Reber there will give you a good deal, plus, I think they have a deal where they'll set you up in a hotel in Vegas for two nights or something like that. It was listed on their website. Shop around a bit...there are plenty out there that will deal.

I think you can get a good deal with just about any dealer as long as you're patient. If I were you I'd just keep looking and try to find something within 100 miles of where I lived. Somebody wants to sell a truck. In times like we're living it's not as if people are actually breaking down the doors to buy these expensive to maintain fuel guzzling behemoths. You live in Florida. If you buy a truck from a dealer in Idaho and you have warranty issues some of your local FL dealers might act pretty lousy if you bring it in for warranty work. Or maybe you can find one that it wont be an issue I dont know. Anyhow my truck listed for $42,600 and I paid $33,500 back in November at a dealer who moves a lot of CTD's just down the road from my house. Which was an ok deal in my mind because at that point in time all the 10K+ deals off sticker were on 06's. So just be patient and take your time. They're not going to run out of trucks.

I bought mine at Dave Smith for 700 under invoice and they have a really nice accessory department which I used extensively. I have also heard good things about Scott at Integrity in Las Vegas. I have 2 buddies who bought from him and were very pleased.

If I remember right, Dave Smith's is now the largest dealership in the world? If they don't have what you want on their lot, Dodge probably doesn't offer it.

Thanks for all your input..

Yes I am looking with in Florida first and it will have to be a good deal to go out of the state, but hey $$$ does not grow on trees and I must make what I have go as far as I can, so who ever gives me the BEST deal, within reason, meaning it would have to make up for my travel expenses and such will get my $$$.

Labelle Dodge down in southwest fl. has good prices. I just bought an 07' 5.9 4X4 LWB, 48RE, Crew Cab Thunder Road pkg. for $32,700. We have bought several trucks there over the past few years and nobody ever beats their prices here in fl. The 5.9's are getting more scarce if that's what you want.

I bought mine at the end of May 07. The typical deal was invoice minus any rebates. At the time rebates were $3,500. Then Woodhouse shaved a bit more. Really worth the call! They are one of the largest dealers in the county. Also have a huge Ford Dealer, not that you would have any interest.
Call Eric Wulf 800-889-1893 as I stated above...
