What PSI 305/70/17 Nitto Terra Grappler

Howdy all just wondering what guys are running for psi on the Nitto Terra Grappler size 305/70/17
It calls for 65 psi max I think but what is best for even wear and fuel economy? This is on my 3500 that is mostly a daily driver unloaded.

Thanks for any replies.

If it is 65psi max it is D rated. 80 psi max for E rated. I run mine at 80. Just don't exceed max psi for your tire.

A little rough but it is a 3/4 ton truck . Just find a pressure that works for you. I would run max pressure in the rear when towing heavy.

ordered mine today. . . .should have em in a week. Nitto tera grappler 305/70R/17 E. I loose just under 1 inch from my current set up. The BFGs have been ok but all the DW stories have me wondering, saw it once when slowing on a less than smooth road after a pass of some slower drivers, they wouldn't go past 70. My toy hauler has a tongue weight at about 1K so I felt the E rated would be a better next tire. My BFGs ran at 50 front and 40 rear unloaded

Gentlemen....... hey what rim size is most common for bigger offroad type tires for our trucks ? I'm getting rid of my 16.5 inch rims and going to 35 or 36 inch tires. Thanks..... !

The 305/70R17 Terra's are E rated, 65psi max cold. Not all E rated tires are 80psi max cold. I would run them at 65psi. Im running 325/70R17 Terra's, which are D rated, 50psi max cold, and run 52psi front, 50psi rear. I only run 52psi front to keep my stupid TPMS from dinging at me all the time. I have over 40K miles on these tires with them being aired like this and have a smooth, even tire wear. I expect at least another 20K out of them. I honestly can't believe my own eyes when I look at how these tires are wearing, especially after hearing people only getting 25K out of them. I also rotate and rebalance every 5K miles. With my next set of tires Im thinking of adding centramatics and forgetting about wheel weights.

You'll find alot of selection in a 17" wheel. There are also some good sizes and tires available in an 18" wheel. I REALLY wish the 3rd gen OEM wheels were 18".

Yeah, plus there's a LOT more 35" E rated tires for 18" wheels than there is for 17's.

Exactly why I wish they were 18". The Nitto Dura Grapplers in 305/70R18E would be PERFECT for my needs/wants. Hell, if i could find someone that could safely stretch my OEM wheels into an 18" I would pay good money to do it. Not even sure it can be done, however.

I would suggest running the fronts to Max PSI and drop off about 10 psi to the rears. I am one of the guys that is working on 50K miles out of a set of Terragrapplers and haven't hit the wearbars yet. They are a good tire and rotate them every 5K.

My bad. All the E rated tires I've had were rated at 80 psi.
