Can somebody post the directions on programing the key fob.
I don't know if it will work, but I have the extra fob from my 05, and wanted to try and link it to my 07.
I used to leave the dog in the cab with the truck running and A/C during the summer. I was able to take the fob with me and lock the doors. The 07 is built into the key so I can't do this now.
Anyone ever try this??

 

The only way to know for sure is to follow the direction in the owners manual for adding a key and see if it works.

 

I don't know about the fob, I think once it's programmed for one vehicle that's it. BUT, as to your real concern, why not just get a regular transponder key cut so you can leave that in the ignition, or even cheaper, get a plain metal one cut that will only open the door.
