procomp XAT or nitto TG
I running the XATs now. I have 18K on them and they still have a very long way to go. The off road traction here in SoCal has been great. On road has been very good too. I changed from the Xterrains as they were very loud on road, so-so on wet pavement and did not ride very well. The XATs are much quieter, less noise that a lot of milder tread tires, and ride a whole lot better. The only thing I warn about is it is extremely important to have the correct amount of air in them or the wear badly. I run 60 in front and 55 in back and all is good. Overall I will get the same tires again when these are warn out as I think they are the best balance of good tread, agressive looks and road manners.
I've only got about 7K miles on them so far, but im happy with my Nitto Terra Grappler 285/75/17s. Mileage went up about 2 mpg over my old 35'' BFG Mud Terrains. But that would probably be expected no matter what brand when going down in size and weight and to an all terrain tread.
Great tire so far. Wear seems good. Seem to do well in the rain. Hope that helps.

Get the Procomp Xats! I had the 295/70/17 and didn't like them at all. They did not get very good traction off road and they didn't wear very good either. I now have 35/12.50/18 XATs know and love them. Look way better, better traction, and from what I can tell they are wearing better too.
i just bought some XAT's just the other day for winter, on 17 inch welds. i couldn't beat the price, and if you order between today and tomorrow you should still get the buy 3 get 4 deal. i run Toyo's MT's right now on 18inch welds, i love them tires too, but they are almost double the price.
I am runnin the NITTO TG's in 275/70/18 and have had them for about 6000 miles, snow I don't know about but in the rain they have been great for traction. They still look brand new even with 6k on them. My mpg dropped about about .75 mpg compared to the stock tires.
I thought I posted this morning, but I must have forgot to hit the button.
4 Wheel Parts is running a "Buy 3, Get 1 Free" sale on Pro Comps through tomorrow night. Good deal if you're looking at XATs, even better if you have a local 4WP to avoid shipping charges.

Seems that many others have the Xtreme All Terrains with no problems. However, I'm almost 99% certain that in the buy 3 get 1 free deal, you receive 1 tire that is crap (I received the same deal). I have the 35x12.50 R17's and have had them balanced a few times but to no avail. Now I'm running airsoff pellets in the tires, and they still won't balance. I've just learned to live with it, but I can't wait to get rid of these tires. The 62-65 MPH range is terrible.
That said, the tires have lasted pretty good (although mainly highway miles). I've got 38k on them now and look to get around 45k on them. I've not been easy on them either. At first, the tires seemed good in all types of conditions. Now, the tires don't grip well in the rain at all.
These have been my experiences. I would not recommend them.

Good luck trying to get Pro-Comps buy 3 get 1 free deal. I went to a couple of places that sell them and when they called for my size---ALL OUT OF STOCK. Someone else came in and told me he has been trying for 3 weeks, no luck. He sent and e-mail to Pro-Comp and from what he said it was a too bad response, we are out of stock. Next week when the deal ends you will be able to get them!!!!

If I were getting tires right now, I was going to order them only and select the in-store pickup option. If they let the order through online, I'd hold that figure over their heads till some tires showed up.
I'll have to keep this in mind when the next sale comes around.
Pro comp is owned by transworld something or other, as iunderstand it. The same company that owns 4 wheel parts wholesale. I have to say, that as a whole, I have never been impressed with the company, its owners, or the way they conduct business across the board. This is one reason I have been very timid in purchasing a tire from them.
As a result of somewhat inconclusive reports on the quality of their tires, I have decided to go with nittos, which I have had, and liked in the past. Looks of a tire are not nearly as important as quality and company in my mind. The XAT's look nice, but I am going to have to resist.
