Expensive. Regulators are near 200 a piece, door panels are about the same, plus all the wiring and switches. Not worth it in my book. I can crank for that kinda cash.

Not expensive at all, if you do not care about having the stock switches. I've converted to power windows on a few trucks. You do not have to switch regs. They have kits all over the internet. Also, you can try local stereo shops as many of them have experience doing this kind of conversion. I like vinyl flooring and could not find one with vinyl flooring and power windows...opted for the carpet! However, I would not let Power windows hold me back, if it were the truck I liked and priced right.

Ebay auction number 310004967208 has a Power Window and Lock kit for less than $200.00. Don't let all the pieces scare you....it's really not that hard to put them in.

With the aftermarket power windows, you have to add it all. Same with the factory windows though. However.......try finding repair parts for the aftermarket window regulators andd motors!

It definitely sounds like moisture might be causing a short in your door lock controls especially if rain is dripping directly onto the panel. Water can corrode the contacts or cause intermittent electrical signals, which could trigger the auto-locking you're seeing. Cleaning or replacing the switch panel might help, and it’s worth checking for signs of water damage. A malfunctioning key fob is also possible, so removing the battery temporarily can help rule that out. For reliable entry systems in buildings, Commercial Windows and Doors from McDowell Glass offer durable and secure solutions that hold up better in harsh conditions.
