power inverter, or generator?

Ran saws and drills off an invertet(3500 W) but air comp., battery chargers, and the like ran off the gen.(Honda)

I have an inverter system factory installed on my boat. It is paired with two gel batteries and will run the air conditioning for about 8 hours.
