A Pillar gauge pod blocking view?

I'm trying to decide where to locate my new gauges.

Question is; with the 3 guage mount replacing the stock a-pillar do the gauges block any of the view out the windsheild, or do they fit into the same footprint of the stock a-pillar.
This seems like the best location to me but I am worried it will make the a-pillar wider than it allready is.

Thanks in advance.

I have the gauges on my 2nd gen and it doesn't block my view at all. Takes up basically the same amount of room as A Pillar without gauges does.

Well, I had the gauges on my Y2K, and this is what it looked like...

In my opinion, it increased the size of the A-pillar about 10%. It wasn't a real problem visibility wise, but I had to pay attention sometime.

timk006,

The A pillars we have that are color matched to the stock interior color do not block any vision. Because they replace the stock pillar and don't go on top of it, the gauges are not sticking out nearly as far and the vision isn't blocked. We have them in 2 and 3 gauge designs, call us if you have any questions etc.

Here is a picture of my 3 pod A pillar setup on my 04.5, it does block it just a touch, but not enough to hinder vision during normal driving.

I have the Edge Attitude mount on the A-Pillar and it does not restrict the view anymore than normal. The one thing I do not like about this truck is the visability blink spots created by the window/Pillars. I have to really be careful or I can miss a small vehicle in either direction. Came pretty close a few times.

Did your 4x4 selector come from the factory under the ac vent or did you move it?

I realy like the look of the gauges in the center area. Would they be more of a hassle to install then the A-Pillars? In my truck the only thing I have there is a open space for misc stuff, my 4x4 is mounted on the ground in the center of the truck.

From what I understand the cubby hole gauge pod setup is a bit more difficult to install, as you have to drill holes into the back of the cubby, to run the wires, but its not impossible. I almost put mine in the cubby hole, but I use that cubby hole way too much to lose that extra space.. Ive got two cell phones and a remote that frequently take up that space.

I put mine in the center console cubby hole.

It is real easy to remove that little cubby hole. There are four screws that hold it in place. Just remove them and the plastic that makes the cubby slides right out.

I did have to get a little creative in routing my wires and such, but it really wasn't that much of a problem. And I didn't drill any holes.

I saw MedicShawn pics a while back and really liked that I idea. My gauges had been about a year, and a couple weeks back I decided to switch mine. Took a little creative modifications, but came out pretty good.

I used the "single gauge pillar" which is a dodge part. I does not block view at all. Then, I put two more gauges on the stearing column.

I tried to post picture, but I'm too dumb to figure out how.
