Personally from a "i work on these all the time", do you really want to go from the 5.9 to the 6.7?

White is good. No, GREAT! I've had two white Cummins. White Lexus (2), white Acura, white Chevy truck, get the idea?

Forget the leather. Horrible. If you're buying a Benzo, Caddy, or the like I guess I'll suffer through the 10 minutes of scalded and blistered skin to feel the supple leather...but in a truck fuggedaboutit.

I have even had "cooled" or ventilated leather seats in the Lexus and it did not help, ONE BIT!

 

I am really havinf second thoughts on the 08 purchase!

My brother and, buddies are all trying to talk me out of it...

Are the 08 that BAD?

My 06 runs without any problems and everyone recommends to keep it for another two years...

My 06 is stock and if I decide to keep her a pimping my ride will take place.

I've lived in Phoenix since 1976 & wouldn't have leather seats if you gave them to me. I had a Mercedes/Benz & installed expensive sheepskin seat covers to protect the stock seats & my butt from the hot, sticky seats. I don't believe leather "breathes" as well as cloth. It may look & feel nice but, NOT IN THE SUMMER.

You have to "treat" the leather so that it won't dry out prematurely. You seem to see a lot of cracked leather seats, around here. Not nearly as much in cloth seats. I, also, think replacing leather seat covers would be much more expensive, once they are cracked & you have the initial extra cost, also.
If you are prepared to deal with the negatives then, go for it.

Personally, I would keep the '06. They are a proven commodity & we all know their weak points. The '08 is still so new that there still seems to be some problems that they are having difficulty figuring out. Their fuel economy appears not to be as good as the older trucks.

One of the cheapest truck stops for fuel is the Quick Trip, here in Phoenix. The only problem is that they ONLY sell LSD. The new '08 will require ULSD. I had to tell a guy with a new truck not to fill up at the QT because of that. He didn't realize that he shouldn't use LSD or that there was any difference in diesel fuels.

On the other hand, the Auto. transmissions in the new trucks seem to be pretty good & are 6-speeds. Once again, you have to weigh the pro's & con's. Good luck with your decisions.

We went through the same dilemma because I got an itch and thought the 2008s were uber cool.

No thanks. I'm lifting the 04 and putting some 20's on it now. Just think of the money I've "saved." I'm using my wife's shopping philosophy!

I go to the one at 51 ave and the I-10.

I had a guy once tell me I couldn't use the LSD in my 07 because it "says so".
He said it was illegal for that year no matter what engine it has.
