painted door handles

I would like to have painted to match door handles on my 2500. Is this an option on another truck wher eI could simply order up the handles? or has anyone painted theres to match? The black is just plain ugly.

to your first question, not that i know of.

I used Krylon Fusion on mine. Works good, painted black to match the black paint.

What color is your truck? If the paint code/color matches up to the Jeep GC you have it made. The Jeep GC handles are the same as the QC handles, at least on the outside. Should be the same on the inside also.

When I had my 04 I put SS handle covers on my truck. While I was messing around doing this I looked at the X's 04 GC. I saw that the handles are the same.

Try looking at a few boneyards, the dealership or the ebay garbage sale site. If I can find the link to the on-line junkyard site I'll either post it or send it to your pm's.

Not sure on the new GC, but the Commander was different. At least the rear door handles are, so I didn't pay much attention to the front ones. I think that '02/'03 GC have handles like ours and have been tempted to order one to see if they are in fact. Just so I wouldn't be rushed while painting my stockers I priced another set from the dealer - 200.00cnd for the four doors, I forgot to price the tailgate handle. That way I could smooth and paint a set then just swap them out. You know, as I was typing I just realized my dad's GC is early 2000's, so I might have to pull his doors apart and have a better look .

Hey Strokedelky, I guess I should have been a little bit clearer on what I said. I did not mention the Commander or any newer model

A Jeep Grand Cherokee handle from around 2003 to 2006 should fit a Gen 3 truck. Not sure on the inside part but sure on the outside part.

The new GC and Commander handles will most likely not fit as the body style has changed.

And vegashd, PM me. I have some info for you.

And now if I could only find the part #'s for you. My 04 QC was white and I was going to go with the white handles before I went with the Stainless Steel bling thing. I had the info to swap the handle assemblies from the Jeep GC to the Dodge QC.

Did not know the GC connection

I just went to dodgeparts.com and looked up a 2004 CG in the OEM portion of the online catalog.

They did not show part numbers, but did show this under front door/limited..

Collision Catalog - 2004 - Jeep - Grand cherokee
Front door, Lock and hardware, Handle outside, Limited, Stone white Left
Collision Catalog - 2004 - Jeep - Grand cherokee
Front door, Lock and hardware, Handle outside, Limited, Stone white Right

About 55 each.

Not sure this is the exact part, but a call to them could probably figure it out.

I have a white QC also, and have been wanting to paint the handles to match almost since day 1. I didn't realize there was the Grand Cherokee connection. Anyone have any definitive word yet?

phloop, it was vegashd that mentioned the Commander. No problem though, I think your right on the years for the GC. Vegashd, bear with me for a few days, maybe even as long as next weekend and I should be able to tear both my truck and my dad's GC apart and find out for sure .
