I'm planning on getting the Commander and would like to mount it overhead. I already have a TRAX II digital fuel monitor mounted on the dash by the A-pillar and don't want to get too crowded there. Does anyone know if the Commander would fit the Edge Overhead mount that Geno's has??

I saw the A-pillar mount for the Commander and thought I might be able to customize it for the overhead, but if it would fit the Edge mount I'd be golden, or if there is an overhead mount for the Commander available??

Best darn lookin gauge mount I ever had was a 3-gauge unit mounted above the rear view mirror. Who'd a thunk? It is such a natural position. Look in the rear view all the time, and there are the gauges. I mounted it 5 1/2 years ago, drove up to Coldfoot, AK and the Kenai and back through Idaho and Montana then back to North Mexico, about 10k miles in all. Loved it and had no issues.

That was in May/June of '05. When the warm days of summer hit, the taped velcro began to slip and even though the mount has a lip under the head liner, it eventually came down.

Geno's is the BEST. The sent me a new set of velcro with the instructions to clean the windshield real good (I did the first time). I remounted tape and let it 'cure' for a few days. The pod lasted a few weeks then began slipping and fell in the heat of the day. Inspection of the pod showed warpage from the heat.

I didn't care about the warpage and called Robin to see if there was a better tape. There wasn't. I'm now the proud owner of an A-Pilar triple. Did I say I liked Geno's? (I do) Anyway, I would prefer the triple above the rearview, and if you can get one to stick year round - great, but I'm happy with what I have. Drove up to Inuvik, NT this past summer, with no issues.
Back to evening brew. . .

Mine came down in the summer but the tape came off the pod not the window. I crazy glued it to the pod and its still up there years later. I dont have the auto darken mirror so I didnt have to move it.

I do have the auto darkening mirror. I don't recall having to move it's mount, but I did have to move the swivels around a bit so the arm was pointing a lot more downward so the whole mirror piece was lower. Didn't seem to be an issue. I also have tinted windshield, up on the top edge. Being black, I'm sure that helped bring in and keep the heat. Good luck on your install, you're gonna love it.
