Order an 04.5

It looks like I am going to have to order an 04.5 the way I want it.
How long has it been taking people to get there trucks after they order them? I've been told 9 weeks.

I just have a simple order its 04.5 HO600 QC 2500 4x4 Laramie H package, AT, 3:73, in Graphite or Silver. Simple enough.

The only thing close that was found in CA is in white with sport package (no chrome, I like chrome), tow mirrors, heated seats (nice).

Cut off date for new orders was April 16th. You may have to wait until May or June and order an "05.

Mine was ordered thru a So Calif dealer (Dependable Dodge in Canoga Park) and it has been exactly 8 weeks since I ordered it. It is currently sitting in the yard in Mira Loma (distribution center) waiting to take the 1.5hr ride to the dealership. ETA is 5/3 but I have a feeling it may get here sooner.

9 weeks seems just about right based on my experience.

10 weeks for me. It depends on many varibles...dealer allocation, parts availability, and various holdups at the factory and in transportation. My friend got his in 5 weeks and he ordered 4 days before me.

Thanks everyone for the info! I tend to be one who is affected by Murphy's Law so I best just order it and see what happens.

Does anyone have info on purchasing a truck out of state and bringing it into CA?
I have heard that you have to wait until it has over 7500mi before it can get CA plates. Has anyone done that?

It depends on how far out of state. If you order one from a border state (OR, AZ or NV) then you can get one with a CARB sticker which means you can register it in Calif. immediately (within 90 days you have to pay use tax though). I doubt if there are trucks on the lots in those states with CARB stickers, but I guess it's possible. Without the CARB sticker, you have to have 7500 miles on the clock. I looked at doing that, but it was SOOOO much easier to just beat up my local dealer for a good (fair) deal. I got it for invoice less rebates.

Wow! I didn't know about the cut-off date! My order says April 14th. I just made it but I don't know if that's good or bad. Should I cancel and get an 05? The dealers tell me the prices are going up and there may not be rebates on them. Anyone know what's changing on the 05? Decisions, decisions

I understand that the truck has to have 7500 + miles on it before you sign for it. In other words, you can't buy a truck in NY and take the long way home and register it in CA with 7501 miles on it. Your transfer title has to say 7501 miles.

Unless the dealer, knowing that it will have 7501 by the time you get home, puts 7501+ on the paperwork even tho there's only, say, 4562 on there when you bought it.

I oredered my truck in February. It will be 11 weeks this Monday and still waiting. It is on a train here in town and I hope to have it by the end of the week. 12 weeks or longer seems to be about average here in Houston.
