Thumbs down opinions on lame (IMO) tailpipe angle

The first thing I did-w- my truck was cut the angle off the tail pipe. It was free! Anyway I was wondering what others thought of this design. I like the squared off look.

I have been meaning to do exactly the same mod...I'd prefer the squared-off tailpipe. But I have no convenient way of doing so and making it look nice. I don't own a reciprocating saw, or a pipe cutter large enough to handle it.

I like the angle cut of the exhast but wish it were a few inches longer. I am getting an exhast stain on the rear bumper. It cleans off easly enough but can sure make a clean truck look dirty. I need an enexpensive extension. Tight budget.

I agree. Always thought the cut angle looked car-like. I think the cut angle on the 2nd gen was perfect. Funny how trivial things have such a visual impact.

Heck yeah. My truck is two days old and I have the stain on the bumper as well. I hope it doesn't migrate to the paint on the rear quarter panel.

I may visit the steel shop in the AM to see what they have in the way of some stainless teel tube. I'd like to get it out about 2" longer than the cut off end and make it a little larger diameter. Sort of like a sleeve. One problem is fitting it w/o making it look like cheezy sleeve ala rice rocket. If I can get it way under and up fitting snug to the first bend I will try it. Another thing I like is the turned down tip I have seen. Anyone know about the availablity of these?

Thanks for the tip. Geno's price is less than half the price of others that I have seen. Will order it tomorrow.

Look under chrome/stainless

Check with some of the big truck shops too.
You might find a few alternatives.
I will be putting a 5" turn down on mine when I change out the exhaust to a DPP system.

guys throw a little biodiesel in the tank and those stains will be greatly reduced or eliminated If your bumper is getting stained that quickly, I might try changing fuel sources. The lower the cetane and the higher the sulfur the more soot and gunk its going to put out.

I have the 36.00 Genos end. you can push it on till it stops or sinceit has a tight friction fit,let it hang out long a few inches. It is a great fix and looks great for the price. Hard to keep it clean thought!

Too bad Biodiesel isn't offered at the local stations. My stain is from the first tank the dealer put in and a high volume Amoco station in Tennessee. I am still running on that tank and I am in eastern Georgia. These trucks are awesome.

Thumbs up

That Gino's tip looks great! I've been looking for a solution to the soot problem that doesn't look like it belongs on a lowered Honda.
