Megacabdad... Yes you paint automotive color over the lineX. I have have had it hold up under severe conditions and this is the only way you can actually match your truck color.
Listen, get a small piece of metal, go to your LineX dealer and have him shoot it next time he is spraying a truck. (Should be free) Then take it to a paint shop and ask them to shoot color over it. Let it set and make your decision. It is not that you cannot damage the paint if that is your intention, heck I know guys that can break a steel ball. I believe that you will be surprised at how well it holds up.
