OK, I just gotta ask...

I know this is a trivial matter, but I just gotta know anyway. What is the little hook that's molded into the dash to the left of the glovebox door for? I bought a 2002 gasser 1500 (same body style as the 2003 2500/3500) a couple of months ago and haven't been able to find anything about it in the owner's manual and just the fact that it's there but I don't know what it's for is bugging me. Anybody know? Thanks

I use it for holding my trash bag. I have found that the donut bags from 7/11 make a great trash bag that isn't too bulky....

I think they threw the hook on there just to throw you off, it seems on many trucks that is the only thing that holds the dash on after you remove all the obvious bolts/ clips. great for holdin takeout food bags upright on the way home too.

I've heard that it is called a "PANTY HOOK".

OK, it's really a trash bag holder or a purse holder but thought my idea sounded better.

Wow, quite a diverse bunch of replies. Trash bag hook was the first thing that came to my mind, but I didn't think the engineers would have been that thoughtful. I apparently don't need a trash bag anyway, as that's evidently what the wife thinks the door pockets are for.

Blahh, ha, ha mine thinks the exact same thing, I got on her for it a couple times and she replied with "I always remove it when I get out". Now I just clean out that door pocket and place all her "discarded items" on the floor mat of her car...

I don't know about Asher, but I don't sleep on the couch. I now have a house of my very own, albeit a very small one. It's in the back yard behind her house.

Always carry a litter bag in your car. It doesn't take up much room. And when it gets full you just toss it out the window.
