I know this is a trivial matter, but I just gotta know anyway. What is the little hook that's molded into the dash to the left of the glovebox door for? I bought a 2002 gasser 1500 (same body style as the 2003 2500/3500) a couple of months ago and haven't been able to find anything about it in the owner's manual and just the fact that it's there but I don't know what it's for is bugging me.
Anybody know? Thanks

I think they threw the hook on there just to throw you off, it seems on many trucks that is the only thing that holds the dash on after you remove all the obvious bolts/ clips. great for holdin takeout food bags upright on the way home too.
Wow, quite a diverse bunch of replies. Trash bag hook was the first thing that came to my mind, but I didn't think the engineers would have been that thoughtful. I apparently don't need a trash bag anyway, as that's evidently what the wife thinks the door pockets are for.

mine thinks the exact same thing, I got on her for it a couple times and she replied with "I always remove it when I get out". Now I just clean out that door pocket and place all her "discarded items" on the floor mat of her car...
Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
