No right turn signal on camper

Got up at 5 to pull 5er to Tybee and had no right turn signal or brake light. On camper. Put a new bulb in and still nothing. Used tester and nothing at socket. Checked 7 pin trailer plugs in bed and bumper still nothing. I checked the fuses under the hood and even switched the fuses from right and left signals to be sure they were good and they were. What else could be wronng?

If the 04 is like my 06 it is the TIPM. A computer controlled breaker that sensed too high a current to the light. Only the dealer can reset it.

Do a search on TIPM and you will see it happens a lot.

Yeah, what Andy said. Common issue.

I just bypassed everything and installed an HD Modulite unit. Poor design by the factory is no longer a problem. Costs less than 50 bucks and an hour to install.

The dealer reset mine three years ago. I tow all the time and no problems since it was reset.

RTillery, is this the unit you installed? I have an 05 and tow our 5th wheel a lot and would just as soon not have this issue out on the road.

Hunter, that is the one. I also bought the wiring kit that that powers the unit and provides juice straight from the battery.

It is a heavy (maybe 12ga) kit with a plug in, inline fuse setup that will allow you to change it easy if you should get a short in your trailer. I dropped my spare and mounted the Modulite to a bed rail above it, and spliced into the harness on the drivers side where it goes by the spare and splits to the lights and trailer plug. I have done one trip with my tailer and a few hundred miles empty. Everything working fine, Good luck on yours!
