What year's your truck? There's no signature so I don't know what year. I'm going in to buy a new spreader on Monday, so I might be able to get some more info for ya when I'm there.

Long bed. That's what's getting you. I'll ask her what's up when I go in. I don't see why that would effect the plow on the front though.

Its a new 06 with the snow plow prep option, so Dodge must think a plow should be on it> I was told its the weight on the front end with the diesel motor, so I don't think the long bed with extra weight on the back would matter. i would think it actually helps.

Your dealer was partially right in that the diesel motor does weigh more, but I also think the springs are heavier to compensate.

Anyone know if the front springs are the same from '05 to '06? This seems strange to me that they would be any different. I know on my '05 it only drops a little when I raise the plow. If I had the Timbrens, it would be much less.

The reason is you are running out of GVWR on that truck. After you add the plow weight and the recommended ballast, you are over. None of the plow manufacturers will want to go over GVWR. If you punch in a 3500 SRW you will see the difference 900 lbs payload makes.

Gwen couldn't find it in her books either. Sorry. You might try contacting Fisher directly to see what they can do.

Hey GN270 where do you live? If you have your heart set on a fisher you can get around these problems. one option is to buy a slightly used fisher plow and have someone put it on. Your other opition is to buy the plow from a Fisher dealer and leave with. Or get one on Ebay. Go home assemble the off truckpart yourself it is very easy. Then take the on truck part to another dealer and ask them to install the push plate and do the wiring for you. They never sold you the plow so they are no liable. And when you buy the plow from the other dealer. Just sort of forget that your truck is a long bed. Tell them it is a 3500 quad short box with the diesel. Do not lie about the engine since the push plates are different from hemi to cummins. I know this since I just put a used Fisher plow on my truck. And the guy that installed it turned me away because of the diesel. He said he had no push plates for it. But the next day he dug through his trailer and found a set. $2500 later I am the proud owner of the L.E Patriots World Champion edition Fisher plow in very nice conditon installed on my truck. The plow never even had a second cutting edge put on it.

Thumbs up TDR's "Snowman" runs a Blizzard Plow

TDR's "Snowman" runs a blizzard on his twin-turbo'd '00 Ram. It's a low 12 second rig. He has the wing plow with it which I have never seen.

BTW: Snowman is Vinnie's brother from Orange County Choppers (American Chopper, Discovery channel). I thought that was pretty neat. He lives in upstate NY also.

My plow dealer is putting a new truck mount and wiring for my new truck. He has no issue and said I would be okay.
