Angry Is the next CDT is like the new Dakota?

I went looking at new trucks today. Have ya'll seen the new Dakotas? Even the Chevy is a better looking truck! Are you kidding me? Is this a cruel joke? Is this what the next Ram is going to look like? It looks like a truck that should be in the "Vacation" move. I would be embarrassed to drive it!

I realize beauty is only skin deep, but the new Dakota is THE uglest truck I have ever seen. I WILL buy a Ford if DC changes the Ram to the new Dakota style!

Comments Please!

I cant stand those dakotas, its embarassing to see them in the same lot as the 3/4 and 1 tons,

but i didn't really care for the new style 1/2 tons back in 02, then you started to see the bigger trucks with some length and height to them, and they grow on you eventually

I'll be the guy driving with a bag over my head.

What happened to the retro trend? All of a sudden we are back to the "Caddy" look. I don't want to drive an Escalade.

266, better start talking to Ford dealers, or buy an 05. 06 gets the Dakota style facelift, & 3/36 warranty instead of 7/70

Yup, if you don't like the dakotas, you won't like the 06 ram.. Which is why, unless the dodge gets better looking in 10 years when I get ready to sell my 04.5, I'll be buying elsewhere.

I've seen the new Ram. I like it and even if I didn't I'm already in love with the mega cab. Room for the family at last!

I must be the only one that actually likes the look of the new Dakota...

But I'm waiting until I see the new Rams before I pass judgement on them. It works for a small truck, but I'll have to wait and see what it does for the full size.

You're not the only one. I actually like the looks of the Dakota; just something about the sharp edges that I think look good. The only thing I don't like about it is the angle of the grille, but it's not that big of a deal.

As for the '06 Ram, it does not look anything like the Dakota. The headlights are larger and do go back on top of the fender but, the edges are still rounded to fit the current Ram fender style. Actually, the headlights look more like the Durango headlights. The pictures I've seen of a real 1500 Ram, not airbrushed paintings, look really good. Several people on various websites have said that, in person, they look awesome. From what I've gathered, the next all-new Ram 1500 is due for MY '09 with 2500/3500 to follow MY'10. I'd like to see Dodge do something completely revolutionary and completely different, like they did for '94.

Follow this link for some nice pictures of the Ram 1500:

I got to see the new ram 1500 at carlisle this weekend, I like it. The interior changes are what I like most. Seats were better with more side support and it had a separate button for the cargo light. Feels like theres a lot more room because of the way they desgined the dash. There were a few more added gadgets and buttons but I didnt get to play long enough. But i did notice something for you automatic guys, on the shift lever it said to push twice for tow/haul, push once for o.d. off. Not sure if thats something new but my buddys 04.5 diesel doesnt have it. I didnt think I would like the new front when i saw the pics a few month ago, but it does look good in person and fits the truck well. Doesnt really resemble the dakota. I took a few pics of it And I ll post them a soon as I figure out how to get them off my phone.

Good to hear the "OD off" button actuall works on the "06". I guess I'll wait and see what the 2500 "06" looks like before I pass judgement. But them Dakotas are UGLY!

Go here, you can see the new dodge, and their competition with ford, the "Mega Cab".
Looks like an over sized Dakota.

they need to get their head out of their butts. the concept power wagon they have been showing at the concept shows is the style they should put into production--- we would be waiting in line trying to buy like we were for the 94's and for the pt cruisers.
on the other hand i am afraid they have done so much customer relation damage with their poor service at the dealerships that they most likley are going to continue to disintagrate
