New Truck!

Tommorrow I am picking up my new Ram. So Long to the Ford! I was contemplating getting a mega cab but decided against it because I thought it would be to big. After all, I am getting rid of an F-350 crew cab with an 8 foot bed. So My new rig is a 2500QC Laramie with 6 1/2 foot bed. Mineral grey with 4.10s and all the trimmings. I love the power of the Cummins and more importantly the reliability. Anyway, If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it. You Know, Break in, oil change interval, and so on. Thanks Guys!

I did the same thing you are doing 2 months ago. Breakin is the same as anything take it easy for 3,000 and change the oil ya know. I did the same thing as you too on the mega cab but honestly I kindoff wish I would have got it especially coming from the Ford size. Are you going to do any mods?

Here's a piece of information for you..... the Mega Cab is actually 2 inches SHORTER than the F350 CREW with the 6.5FT bed (not the 8ft.... 6.5ft).

EDIT.... and BTW, that is mostly because the 6.5FT bed is actually 6.75ft.

Dealer told the wife to take it easy for only 500miles. I didn't tow until about 1,500miles.

The dodge Quad cab will have alot less interior space than your Ford, if that is important to you go with the Mega cab, congrats. on either

Thanks, But to me they are both so big and would be more difficult to maneuver around town. I thought the quad cab had just enough space and I really liked the way it drove on the highway.

I just sold an '01 F350 7.3L CC short bed and bought a Ram 3500 QC long bed. Although the Dodge is a few inches longer, it seems to drive about the same as far as turning, parking etc. The Ford is roomier inside for sure, especially in the back seat. I think Dodge is missing the mark in not offering the mega cab in an 8’ bed with better payload (the Dodge 3500 mega cab only has a 2900# payload, the Ford F350 LB CC is over 5200#).

Very happy with the new Dodge so far, smoother shifting and lighter clutch pedal pressure (both trucks are 6 speeds).
