new owner here-help with mopar ipod interface

Sorry to make my first post a question, but I'm stumped. I just picked up an 06 3500 SRW and I added the Mopar ipod interface myself, it was so easy to hook up, a monkey could do it. It works fine, but the ipod stays on after the vehicle is shut off, it says it should turn off in about three minutes, but it just stays on. I was wondering if anyone else out there has had this issue? I was thinking of calling Alpine, they appear the be the manufacturer for Dodge, but thought I'd try here first.

Thanks for any help,
Aaron

the newer Alpine headunits are having this problem too. Usually with a 1st gen Nano or 5th Gen iPod video. If you press pause on your iPod when you shut the truck off, it should turn itself off after a minute or so. Also, try turning your headunit off before shutting the truck down. That pauses my iPod on my Alpine CDA-9886 and it shuts itself down a minute or so later.

It is normal. I can't recall where I read it, but it is in the manual. Mine will also power on for a minute when I open the door to get in before starting the truck.
