Dodge COULD definitely offer a single rear wheel truck with 19.5's but I do not thing there is such a market for it. Or maybe there is a market and Dodge should get that niche.... nobody has that niche....

Imagine if they offered a 3500 SRW with 19.5's and a 12000 lbs GVWR.... I think it would sell well...

Ooo i am getting excited!

An 06 3500 DRW already has a 12,200 lb GVWR.

Right - That's why I said Single rear wheel...! in response to someone elses question:

Is there any possibility that the new chassis will have a dually's payload capacity while only using single rear wheels??

I'm with ya, PC.
I don't really need the extra width/stability of the dually, but the payload is what I was after. Hauling lots of steel--the pounds add up pretty quickly.

I'm not sure whether this will stay up for long.
Cab Chassis Announcement
I sure hope the 610ft/lbs is a misquote, misprint, mis something.

It will have best of class (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) capability at 10,200 pounds.

OK - something is not right here either.

10,200? 12,200? 13,200?

So basically it is a "REAL" chassis cab 3500... cool still but ...

But it is an interview with Joe Veltri, Chrysler Group Director of Body-on-Frame Product Planning and Marketing.
In spite of this I still have some serious doubts about the numbers he is using.

Yes that a nice truck and for once should be very upfitter friendly. But where are the 4500/5500 or are they going to chicken out on us once again?

Heres the link, the info is up. They are listing the 6.7 as a 305/610 engine, this can't be right. I think the press release people have the wrong numbers. My zone rep told me the other day at their last big meeting he was told the 6.7's performance numbers would be class leading, so this is obviously a misprint.

This may be one of the most significant items that's buried in the text:
The all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab offers a six-speed automatic transmission (diesel only) with Power Take Off (PTO) capability....
This appears to confirm the rumors that have been circulating.
