New to me 04
Looks like I get to move up to the big boys forums now. Finally broke down and sold the 99 to a guy that really needed a work truck and stepped up to an 04. Now I guess I can say I've owned one of all 3 generations . Got 94k on the ticker. A K&N that getting replaced soon with a BHAF. Nice BFG 285's all around, a giant tool box that's got to go (I pull a 5'er). Full 4" strait pipe that to me sounds better than any radio.
I'm happy. Just about every single piece of plastic on the ole 99 was busted and it was very annoying. Plus the boys just could not stuff in the back of the quad anymore. it was getting dangerous. I've been worrind that if something happened, our oldest son is tall enough that he might get broke legs in the right crash.
I need to figure out how to post a pic I guess.

Driver side of the valve cover, should say ISB305...... if it is the 305/555 motor, which was a 2004 motor.
The 325/600 came out in the 04.5 model year.
You possibly could have the 250 motor, but it sounds like yours might be a 2004 year.

check the data plate on the driver side of the motor. It will either state 305hp (2004) or 325 hp (2004.5)
Congrats on the new truck, it really is an accomplishment to say you have owned all 3 gens. I dream o fone day getting an older Cummins, but that could well be years down the road...

Yep you got the early 03-04 305/555 motor, my favorite of them all! Keep and eye on your canister mounted lift pump or check to see if it was retrofitted with an intank pump. Other than that these are some exceptional trucks as far as mileage and mods go.

I am one of the fortunate members that have had the joy of owning all 3 generations. I have a few pics of all three together. I sold the first gen to my nextdoor nieghbor( house on the right) bought my 03 used. and got these pics the day i delivered my second gen to it's new owner. I got 22.3 mpg @ 60mph from my 03 this last weekend on a trip to the Oregon coast. I hated doing 60 but it was an experiment.... My 03 was in an onfortunate incident w/ a power pole in june so it got repainted. a few pics of how it looks today

Looks like I don't have the block heater cord on this one. I know it's expensive at the dealer. Does anyone knowof a better source. Cummins parts house right? I'm not sure if we have one around here. It also has a K&N filter on it so i'd like to switch to BHAF. Whats a good source for those and anyone have a prt #? It has the whole K&N kit on it with the black tubing directly to the turbo and the cold air box with the little side breather i guess for some sort of air flow or temp sensor.
