New Bilsteins and Air Lift's....

Well finally received the much delayed Bilstein's BE5_C604-HO front shocks. The rears I've had since November. I removed the Timbrens, as the loaded ride with my trailer was absolutely crap! Anyway, today I had the shocks installed, along with a Rancho 5000 front stabilizer, and Air Lift HD air bags. To sum it up in one word " Awesome".
The steering feels nice and tight, as it should be, and the ride is firm and stable. I was a little concerned that the air bags would produce a bouncy and jarring ride, not the case. BTW, truck has 12K.
Bilstein makes a great product and is fairly priced, certainly worth the wait.

Where did you get the Bilsteins? What are the exact part numbers front and back? This is a megacab - correct?

Sorry, I must confirm - every dealer I talk to, even as early as the beginning of his week, says that Bilstein 5100's are not available for 3500 SRW trucks, never mind the megacabs.

Festus,
Got the Bilsteins from Shockwarehouse in Florida, 800-245-7469. They are not the 5100 series but the Yellow ones. PN front BE5-C604-HO, Rear BE5-C614-HO, @ $69.95 each.
Yes, it is a Megacab. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Are they far better than stock? Last days off, I took my truck for a significant highway trip to visit a friend living in the mountains - the OEM shocks have to go!!

Anyone heard, or have experience with the Tuff Country 9000 series as well?

I got Bilstein 5100's on my 3500 SRW about 3 weeks ago. No waiting, ordered them, and in two days they were on.

Mine are on back order, but I'm waiting on a set of 5100's for the front of my Mega.

I just put bilteins ( yellow blue ) on form Geno's. Super fast shipping awsome service and they have made my drive though the local shopping center much better, I dont even think about the sidewalk anymore.. LOL But I can feel an improvment over the stock units that were at 42k. Its not a harsher ride but a real improvment in overal control of the truck like on pot holes and the curbs when cutting tight with a trailer, kids didnt screem about it.

Festus,
IMHO, they are way better than stock, no comparison. I put them on my 07 C6 Corvette. They just make good shocks and improve overall ride quality. Any questions shoot me a pm. Cliff

Rocketjohn,

Funny, I enjoyed that. Have had Corvette's for 30 years, too old to handle all that Viper HP.
