nerf bars? side steps? please help

I need to purchase some nerf bars, side steps.....Does anyone have any input on brands, types, and best places to buy?

I have heard stainless Steal is the the best? are Steps better than nerf bars or vise versa?

Please any input would be great..

My view is that you should get what you like, after all, it's going on your truck and you are paying for it.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I have the Nfab steps and love them. I always get compliments on them when i am filling up at the fuel station. The only thing bad about them is you need to put a strip of non-skid on the steps, when its wet they are real slippery. other then that they are awsome. I like the low profile look of them.

once i get a little extra $$ i am going to get them line-xed to match my rocker panels. I dont have a pic of them on my truck yet, if you want one i can get one up tomarrow.

I have Westin chromed aluminum nerf bars and I feel they're too close in to the truck .

My kids have trouble finding them with their feet when getting out and I can only get my toes on them.

If I did it again I'd get steps or at least nerf bars you can get the ball of your foot onto.

Nerf bars look cool but are less efficient in my opinion.

I have only heard that nerf or steps with a loop can get your foot stuck in and if you should slip and fall at the same time by by ankle. Again that is what I hear and have never seen or known anyone that this has happened to. I know it would hurt like you know what...

Any way I have decided to go with running boards with diamond plate and have them lined so they will last.

This is where I am getting them from:

or click here to see them

I haven't gotten them yet but will drive to Austin on the 19 of Nov to have them installed as well as front and rear bumpers.

Just bought some for my 07 Mega 2500 from TruckChamp, they look just like all others but lowest price I've seen. Supposedly all the different brands come from 1 of 3 plants in China differing only in the name stamped on them and a couple of different thicknesses (if that's a word) in the pipe. One exception is that one company has stainless mounts they package w/ their bars. The ones I just bought and installed look identical to the Westin's I had on the Avalanche I traded in. (I'm not vouching about them all coming from the same place, do your own research) but the price I paid was $247.78 for stainless/chrome tubular side steps for a MEGA cab. Hope this helps.

Nasta stainless steel steps.. If you do some searching on this site you will read about them. Tubes and all brackets and bolts are stainless. You will not do any better in regard to price and quality. I recently removed a rusted out set that had been on my truck alittle over 3 years with the Nasta model.
I bought mine from JC Whitney...

You didn't say if you were looking for inexpensive or not, but the AMP electric steps are the cat's meow. There when you need them, out of the way when you don't. They also make some cool lights that shine on the steps when the swing out. I don't like nerf bars or steps, so these help my family get in/out and otherwise they're gone out of the way. Also, they're kind of like have a doorman there for you laying out the red carpet to receive you when you open the door. They're just **** cool too! The best place to get these I've found is electricstep.com... They have a guarantee on the price.

I like my Ranch Hand Side Steps. They are not real expensive, but very effective and strong. http://www.ranchhand.com/Steps.aspx

I installed the Westin CPS (lifetime warranty on finish) in early 2004. They still look new.
